Ride on ride on in majesty! Make way make way! We have a king who rides a donkey! All favourite songs for Palm Sunday.
It is incredible to think that one year on we are still in lockdown and unable to meet together to celebrate the start of the most holy of weeks in the Christian calendar.
We continue to be grateful and thankful for all essential workers who have put themselves in harms way to help us and our loved ones through this very difficult time.
Today is the day to remember Jesus Christ riding selflessly into Jerusalem, knowing full well what was waiting for him on that first Good Friday. He paid the ultimate price on the cross, by giving his life, making it possible for man's relationship to be restored to God. That is good news for all.

Happy Mothering Sunday.

Happy Mothering Sunday.

A Prayer for Mothering Sunday

Today we are thinking of everyone who cannot be with their family currently and those who find this day particularly difficult.

How are you doing? I think that we can at last see light at the end of the tunnel. It has been for many, such a traumatic year filled with grief, depression, fear and despair.
As Christians we are not removed from these feelings. Christ does not promise us a life that will be sunshine and roses. However, as we trust in Christ we have hope.
Sometimes life’s disappointments are much more severe. The job we hoped for doesn’t materialize; friends we counted on let us down; the romantic relationship we longed for fails to work out. But into these heartbreaks, God’s Word speaks a refreshing truth about our hope in Him. The apostle Paul wrote, “Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame [or disappoint us], because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:3–5).

As we place our trust in Him, through His Spirit, God whispers the truth that we are unconditionally loved and will one day be with Him—regardless of the obstacles we face. In a world that may often disappoint us, how good it is to know that God gives genuine hope.

Abba, Father, thank You that I can always trust in Your perfect, never-ending love. Amen.

Church will be closed for public worship from Sunday 17th January. It has not been any easy decision to close our doors. We will review the situation in line with government guidance.
Please be assured that our community, schools and key workers are in our prayers. We continue to be grateful for those who provide essential goods and those committed to work for the health of our nation. Thank you!
If you need help or assistance with anything please be in touch and we will do our best to help. Take care and keep safe. We will get through this.

On New Year’s Eve, when high-powered fireworks detonate across cities and towns worldwide, the noise is loud on purpose. By their nature, say manufacturers, flashy fireworks are meant to split the atmosphere, literally. “Repeater” blasts can sound the loudest, especially when exploded near the ground.

Troubles, too, can boom through our hearts, minds, and homes. The “fireworks” of life—family struggles, relationship problems, work challenges, financial strain, even church division—can feel like explosions, rattling our emotional atmosphere.

Yet we know the One who lifts us over this uproar. Christ Himself “is our peace,” Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:14. When we abide in His presence, His peace is greater than any disruption, quieting the noise of any worry, hurt, or disunity.

This would have been powerful assurance to Jews and gentiles alike. They’d once lived “without hope and without God in the world” (v. 12). Now they faced threats of persecution and internal threats of division. But in Christ, they’d been brought near to Him, and consequently to each other, by His blood. “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility” (v. 14).

As we start a new year, with threats of unrest and division ever rumbling on the horizon, let’s turn from life’s noisy trials to seek our ever-present Peace. He quiets the booms, healing us.
