A warm welcome awaits you at St Mary's , Plumtree. St Mary's is an Anglican church in the East Bingham deanery of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. We hold regular services at 10.30am every Sunday and Wednesday and 6.00 pm every Sunday. In addition to service times, the Church is open for private prayer from 9.30 am until 5.30 pm every day. St Mary's is one of the oldest churches in Notting

hamshire and is noted for its painted and gilded woodwork introduced in the 1870s by George Frederick Bodley and Thomas Garner. It also contains some fine stained glass windows by Burlisson & Grylls.

Holy Week continues at St Mary's with our Maundy Thursday service at 6pm as we commemorate Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, where he established the sacrament of Holy Communion (the Eucharist). Maundy Thursday also marks the institution of the priesthood, service to our fellow humans (Jesus demonstrated this by washing the disciples' feet), and the commandment to love one another: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so also you are to love one another" (John 13:34) If that isn't a message worth sharing, I don't know what is. At the end of this service all linens, candles and crosses are removed from the altar and sanctuary. There is no final blessing or hymn and we leave the service in silence, deep in our own thoughts.
