Reading books, sporadic meditation, flitting between teachers and piecemeal teachings can all give some sense of Buddhism, but leads only to spiritual stagnation. A path of more regular steps towards spiritual growth is requiredโ€ฆ

We are delighted to announce that this May we will be celebrating 30 years since the Nottingham Buddhist Centre first opened its doors.

For three decades, this building has been a place of refuge, friendship, meditation, and transformation for thousands of people. During this special event, we will be marking both the enlightenment of the Buddha over 2,500 years ago and the 30th anniversary of the Centre.

Join us for this significant day of celebration. The day will include meditation, talks, mitra ceremonies, and puja. Weโ€™ll also be recreating the iconic photograph of the Centreโ€™s opening with lots of balloons, sharing recorded interviews and archived footage from the Centreโ€™s history, and launching an anniversary zine.

There will be a shared lunch together so please bring some vegan food to contribute.

We hope you can join us in celebrating this important milestone. Whether you have been part of the Sangha for many years or have recently completed a course, you are warmly invited to come along for this special occasion.

Feel like your mind never stops? Step out of the chaos and into stillness. Our drop-in meditation classes in Nottingham offer a space to breathe, reset, and reconnect.

Whether youโ€™re completely new to meditation or already have a practice, all levels are welcome.

Radical Wisdom: A Course Introducing Buddhism & Meditation

Many of us are waking up to the daunting and unprecedented challenges to our way of life that we currently face around the world. Even if we simply feel a vague sense of unease or dissatisfaction with our situation, we probably all share a niggling sense that there is a radically more satisfying way we could live our lives, both as individuals and as a society.

Can we really find happiness in more and more distraction, and having ever more stuff? Buddhism tells us that this wonโ€™t work โ€“ but that there is a real happiness to be found, if we look in the right place.
