Stapleford Church of Christ

Stapleford Church of Christ "Because People matter to GOD, People matter to US" We seek to be faithful and obedient to God's will.

Stapleford Church of Christ is a group of Christians who see the Bible as God's Word to us today and as the only authority by which our lives are to be governed. There are assemblies of the Church of Christ all around the world, and historically, there have been churches of Christ in the Nottingham area for over 200 years. Our mission is to be the body of Jesus Christ in our community, in our worl

d, in our culture, and in our time. We are not trying to be a church of the first century, the tenth century, or the nineteenth century. We are striving to be the church that God wants us to be right now, today, and tomorrow. We don't claim to have all the answers to all the questions that people may ask, but we do believe that we must be dedicated to studying the Bible as the basis of truth for all that we do and believe. We are not in the business of decrying other people's religious beliefs but to patiently teaching that which we firmly believe to be God's will, as revealed in the Bible. We are a church made up of people of all ages, from various backgrounds, and of numerous cultures and nationalities. We have a very strong youth programme, seeking to help young people to grow up with the right moral values that our society today needs. They are involved in various activities which are fun, fulfilling, and character building. If you would like to know more about us, we invite you to come and meet us, feeling free to ask anything that you wish.

Our annual Christmas pot-luck dinner this past Sunday was one of the best ever. We have such good cooks in this church who prepare the best of food! It was difficult knowing where to start. But, the best part of all (as usual) was the fellowship we all had just sitting round tables talking to one another. We are so blessed.

This coming Sunday (15th December) will be our annual Christmas Pot-Luck lunch following our morning meeting. Members will be bringing delicious, hot, home-cooked meals (many with a "Christmas" theme) with delicious puddings and desserts. Our speaker at the service will be one of our shepherds John Diggle. We encourage to join us on the day and enjoy excellent singing, an excellent lesson, friendly chats, and one of the best meals you will ever enjoy! What a great way to start the Christmas season! See you there. The meeting begins at 11.0 a.m., but the building will be open from 10.30 for coffee/tea, biscuits, mince pies.

After a brilliant evening listening to the Harding Corale, we'd like to say thanks to everyone who worked hard to make this happen, to everyone who shared their homes, to St. Helens Parish Church for letting us use their building, and for everyone who came to listen tonight. Of course we'd especially like to say a great big thank you to the Harding Corale for coming and sharing their talented voices with us. What an amazing evening of singing. We've had such fun getting to know you all over the past few days and we can't wait until you're back again. Wishing you all the best on your onward journey, we wish we could keep you longer but we know the people of Scotland are in for a treat.
