❤️ Standing with Emmanuel House Support Centre, Nottingham

Our OLOG community is incredibly generous, regularly leaving donations at church to support local charities, including Emmanuel House.

As part of their Harvest Campaign, Emmanuel House is asking supporters to consider giving regularly, helping them provide nourishing meals and a warm welcome to people who are homeless or experiencing crisis — throughout the year.

🍲 Even a small monthly gift can make a lasting difference.

Please take a look at their appeal and see how you might be able to support them. ❤️

🍂 Harvest 2026: Help us keep meals on the table all year round!

Can you help us re-stock our fridge and storerooms to ensure that hundreds of vulnerable people can access vital food and nourishment?

We are calling on the community to help by donating essential non-perishable food items. This year we're also asking our supporters to consider if they could set up a regular donation to give us stability throughout the year, which will help us plan ahead and cover the monthly food and services bill that provides nourishing meals for people who are homeless or experiencing crisis.

“Jesus is with us always.” ❤️

A beautiful message from our Children’s Liturgy this morning! 🙏✨

Our children created this wonderful poster, colouring their own little figures and placing them around Jesus — a lovely reminder that Jesus is always with us, and there is a place for everyone in our church family.

At Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Cotgrave, we love having children as part of our parish community. ❤️

👧👦 Age-appropriate activities during Children’s Liturgy

❤️ And most importantly, children and their families are always welcome!

So, if you’re a family in Cotgrave or the surrounding area, why not come and join us next Sunday?

Come and be part of our church family — there’s a place for you here! 😊

🌹 Today we celebrate our Heavenly Mother! 🌹

At Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Cotgrave, everywhere we look, we are reminded of Mary — and today, 15 August, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. ✨

Mary, taken body and soul into Heaven, gives us a glimpse of the hope that awaits us, guiding us closer to her Son, Jesus, and reminding us that Heaven is our true home. ❤️🙏

🌹 Our Lady of Grace, pray for us!

📱 What would St Maximilian make of social media today? 🌹

Today we celebrate St Maximilian Kolbe — passionately devoted to Jesus and the Immaculata. ❤️

He used the media of his day — newspapers, magazines and even radio — to share the Gospel and bring people closer to Christ.

Today, we have social media. 📱
It helps us stay connected, reach people wherever they are, and share the joy of our faith far beyond the walls of our church.
But the aim is always to bring people together in person — to pray, to share, and to grow together in faith. 🙏

❤️ Caring for one another to the very end ❤️

During Mass last Sunday, we listened to Bishop Patrick McKinney’s pastoral letter to us and to all the Catholics of the Diocese of Nottingham, as we prepare for the forthcoming vote on the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill on Friday 11 September 2026.

Bishop Patrick urges us to pray, speak out and contact our MPs, sharing our concerns about this proposed change in the law.

As Catholics, we believe that every human life is precious and has inherent dignity, especially when we are at our most vulnerable. Compassion means accompanying people, caring for them and ensuring that nobody feels that their life is a burden or that death is their only option.

In his letter, Bishop Patrick highlights serious concerns about the impact this Bill could have on vulnerable people, including elderly and disabled people, the pressure it could place on healthcare professionals, and the urgent need for properly funded palliative and social care.

📣 Please make your voice heard

We encourage parishioners to contact our local MP, James Naish, and ask him to vote AGAINST the Bill on 11 September.

You can contact James Naish MP through his official UK Parliament page:

📧 [email protected]

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales has also provided an online tool and resources to help you contact your MP:

https://www.cbcew.org.uk/opposing-assisted-su***de/

Even if you have contacted your MP about this issue before, the Bishops’ Conference is encouraging people to speak up again ahead of this crucial vote.

📖 Please take a moment to read Bishop Patrick’s full pastoral letter below. We hope his words will encourage us to reflect, to pray and, where appropriate, to make our concerns heard.

🙏 Let us pray for those who are terminally ill, for the elderly and vulnerable, for their families and carers, for healthcare professionals, and for all those involved in this important decision.

May we always be a society that protects the dignity of every human life and cares for one another to the very end. ❤️

Read at Mass on 8–9 August: the Bishop responds to the assisted su***de Bill. Make your voice heard.
