Thursday 10-09-26 Akhand Path Sahib - 10am

Akhand Path Sahib is a continuous, reading of the entire Guru Granth Sahib ji - the holy scripture of Sikhism—from the first ang to the last ang (all 1,430 ang)

Beginning: The reading opens with a prayer called an Ardas and an offering of Karah Parshad (a sweet wheat pudding).

The Reading: Readers cycle through shifts over two days and nights. Visitors can drop in at any time to listen.

Ending (Bhog): When the final ang is read, the event closes with hymns (Kirtan), a final Ardas, and sharing food (Langar) from the community kitchen.

Non-stop reading: The recitation goes day and night without a single pause.

Relay of readers: A team of trained readers called paathis or granthis take turns. Each person reads for a set time, picking up the exact line where the previous reader left off.

Timeframe: The process usually takes about 48 hours to complete.
