Today we celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary — the birthday of Our Lady. 🤍

Mary entered the world quietly, yet God had an extraordinary plan for her life.

Through her faith, trust and her yes to God, she would become the Mother of Jesus and play a unique part in God’s plan of salvation.

Today we thank God for the gift of Mary and ask her to help us follow her example — trusting God even when we cannot yet see where He is leading us.

Happy Birthday, Mother Mary.
Pray for us and lead us always closer to your Son. 🙏

Who is Jesus for you, really?

Not the answer you were taught. Not the one everyone else gives.

The honest one.

This week, sit with that question, then let one small action answer it for you. 🕊️

Today the Church celebrates one of the greatest days of the year — the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 🤍

Mary, who was conceived without sin, was also spared the corruption of the body in death. Having completed her life on earth, she was taken up — body and soul — into the glory of Heaven.

Tradition tells us that when the Apostles opened her tomb at St Thomas's request, it was found empty. Like her Son, she leaves nothing behind but an empty tomb — because she is fully alive with Him.

This isn't just a beautiful story about Mary. It's a promise for us. Where she has gone, body and soul, we hope to follow. She is our Mother, praying for us now from Heaven with a love that never fails.

🙏 Mary, assumed into Heaven, pray for us.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you from our parish family

We're so grateful to share that we have wonderful cover in place, meaning Father Philipp can now focus fully on resting and recovering following his recent surgery.

It's often only when others step in to cover everything Father Philipp does that we truly appreciate just how much he carries for our parish, quietly and faithfully, week after week.

A huge thank you to the , and to the visiting priests who have so generously stepped in, so that our parish can carry on as normal while Father Philipp takes the time he needs to heal, without any worry about the parish in the meantime.

Thank you too to everyone in our community for your patience, understanding, and prayers during this time.

Please keep Father Philipp in your prayers for a full and peaceful recovery. 💙

Our church has been at the heart of this community for generations — the place where we've celebrated baptisms, weddings, and said goodbye to loved ones. It's more than a building; it's our spiritual home. 🕊️✨

Right now, that home needs our help. Defective concrete is affecting our spire, bell tower, mullions, and other parts of Good Shepherd Church, and the repair costs are significant — over £700,000.

This weekend, we're holding a Second Collection at all our Masses to help meet this need. This building has given so much to so many of us over the years. Now it's our turn to give back.

Please be as generous as your circumstances allow. Every gift, big or small, helps protect this spiritual home for generations to come. 🙏❤️

Thank you for your love and support of our parish family.
