The Moderator was guest preacher this morning at the joint service for the six congregations of Stantonbury Ecumenical Partnership (Parish of Stantonbury & Bradwell, Milton Keynes). The service was hosted by Christ Church, Stantonbury and all three ministers shared in the conduct of the service : Revd Phil Dunning (Baptist), Revd Dr Kofi Tekyi-Ansah (Methodist) and Revd Dr Sam Muthuveloe (Anglican).

The church has some lovely banners and a specially commissioned work of art (with questions for reflection, meriting wider sharing).

The Moderator and Chair of Sheffield Methodist District, the Revd Vicky Atkins, presided at the Induction of the Revd Adam Woodhouse at The Crossing (Worksop) this afternoon. The Crossing is a Methodist/United Reformed Church Local Ecumenical Partnership and Adam’s ministry will include pastoral oversight of the Methodist churches at Carlton-in-Lindrick and North Anston and the Dinnington Pioneer Project. He will also serve as a Synod Pastoral Consultant.

The Charge to Minister and Churches was preached by the Revd Richard Bradley, highlighting the call to prayer, pruning and partnership. The Statement of the Nature, Faith and Order of the United Reformed Church was led by the Revd Louise Gee and Solomon Aryee-Brown; Trinity Circuit Superintendent, the Revd Julie Coates led opening prayers and introduced those bringing greetings; the Convenor of Synod Ordained Ministry and Churches Group, the Revd Nigel Adkinson, read the narrative of the call. A full church celebrated this new chapter in ministry.
