Our worship is straightforward Anglican, accessible and undemonstrative. For contact details click the About Section and go to Description

Holy Communion every Sunday at 9.30 a.m. is a relaxed service with good music and a challenging sermon. Coffee is served afterwards. We are a committed and growing congregation all playing our part in helping St George's Colegate meet its role as the parish church of Norwich Over-the-Water. In late 2010 we carried out a long-overdue project to update a 1960s kitchen and toilet to provide an access

ible meeting room, thus helping to unlock the potential of the building for the next part of its history. In 2011 we managed to complete necessary repairs to external stonework and guttering. The new parish room is now well used, for example for a lunchtime or evening course during Lent, holding our 'Dirty Shirt Club' meetings, and offering a place of retreat for parents and children during the Sunday service (which can be followed on a small TV screen). The Festival of Creation in Christ

This Sunday, 6th September, the Festival of Creation in Christ, we will be celebrating the following service:

9:30 am Sung Eucharist at St George Colegate

Due to road closures for 'Run Norwich' road race this will be the only service offered.

However, St George Tombland is hosting a 'Cheer Station' for the race by the Edith Cavell. We will be there from 8.30am to midday so come and join us for as little or as long as you wish and help encourage all those who are running.

COMING UP

St George Colegate and St Giles-on-the-Hill will be open all day for Heritage Open Day and the Norfolk Churches Trust Bike Ride, Walk & Drive so do pop in and see them. St George Colegate has a programme of events planned including talks and an organ recital.

Sunday 13th September
We will be celebrating our Harvest Festival at all three churches. Gifts of non-perishable goods are welcome.

Feast of St Giles (Anticipated)

This Sunday, 30th August, we will be anticipating the Feast of Our Holy Patron St Giles with a special tri-community Sung Eucharist at 10:30 am at which our own Sam Ruddock will be preaching.(Please note that there will be no services in our other two churches this day.)

All those who wish to join in the choir are warmly invited to do so. Under the leadership of Ian we'll be singing a responsorial psalm and a well-known anthem. Please be there by 10:00 am for a quick practice.

Afterwards the conviviality will continue as we join together for a bring and share meal. All are welcome!

Good morning,

This Sunday, 16th August, the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity, we will be celebrating the following services:

9:30 am Sung Eucharist at St George Colegate
10:30 am Sung Eucharist at St Giles-on-the-Hill incorporating a celebration of Mary, Mother of God
11:00 am Sung Eucharist at St George Tombland

Also, if you are out and about in Norwich today, please do drop into the Colegate summer fete which is running 11am to 3pm. There are plenty of great stalls, a raffle with prizes to appeal to all and a delicious selection of light lunches and cakes.

And, as if that isn’t enough excitement, there is also a family fun day organised by the Island Community group and St Giles-on-the-Hill. It is running from 10am to 5pm at the community garden, Douro Place, West Pottergate. Games, bric-a-brac, a barbeque and candy floss.

We’ll look forward to seeing you at one or both of the events!
