Today's the day for our next Prayer Walk - Tuesday 1 September
Leaving from Aylsham Church and Cawston Church at 8:45am
People will walk towards 'the other church' on the Marriott's Way and we will meet in the middle !!
We will be praying for the people of our parishes, for STREAMS and for our shared mission in the team and beyond.
No need to book. Just come along! The walk is 5 miles each way and if you don't want to walk there and back there is a bus route between Cawston and Aylsham that we can make use of.
All are welcome to join in. The next one that we organise will be in the Bure Valley Group of Churches. We have such beautiful churches in our team so we are spoilt for choice for new walking routes and there is so much to be thankful for.

UPDATE at 18:50:

Many of our resources have now left the scenes of these fires at Knapton and near Aylsham. The remaining crews are now damping down and monitoring the sites. We will continue to have a presence at both locations into the evening.

We would ask for the public to stay vigilant to the risk of fire across the county in these continued hot and dry conditions. In a genuine emergency, please continue to call 999 so that we can respond quickly. Thanks for your support.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE AT 16:45:
Our crews are still working hard at these incidents. Please continue to call us if you need to but only call 999 in a real emergency, as we deal with these fires.

_____________________________________________

We currently have crews from Aylsham, Earlham, Hethersett and Sprowston, North Walsham, Attleborough and Wymondham with specialist wildfire vehicles and a water carrier at a large field fire that started in Stapletons Lane, outside Aylsham just after 2pm.

This fire has spread across a road into another field and our crews are working hard to contain and extinguish the blaze.

We are also in attendance at a field fire in Knapton, near North Walsham. We have crews there from Dereham, Holt, Reepham, Wroxham, Stalham and Long Stratton, along with the water carrier from Fakenham.

Please avoid these areas while our crews carry out their work and close doors and windows if the smoke is travelling in the direction of your home or workplace.

🎉Cawston Primary school pupils are celebrating a triple award win following the Royal Norfolk Show. Their Windrush Garden won Gold in the judges category for the school garden competition. They also received the BBC Radio Norfolk's Showstopper award and won the public vote, decided by visitors at the event.

A huge well done to the pupils and the parent helpers, especially Susie Black who supported the project.

You can read more about the inspiration for the garden here: https://www.dioceseofnorwich.org/cawston-primary-school-pupils-win-gold-in-royal-norfolk-show-school-garden-competition/
