The future of St. Edmund's Church, Forncett.

Parochial Church Council of Upper Tas Valley All Saints

Review of Church Buildings – St Edmunds Church
Open Meeting 3.00pm Sunday 16 November 2025
Venue – St Edmund’s Church Forncett End
Parishes are under great pressure with regard to the cost and other
resources to maintain church buildings. Currently the Upper Tas Valley parish has 7 church buildings, six of which are listed medieval buildings.
Consequently, some difficult decisions lie ahead in determining the future use of church buildings. The following options are all possibilities for consideration:

 Close for public worship
 Are there alternative community uses
 Alternative secular uses e.g art gallery or an acceptable workshop/ office use
 Letting for alternative uses
 Sale of the freehold

This meeting is to look at how these and any other options might be considered in respect of St Edmund’s. Anyone who has an interest in this subject and in particular its application to St Edmund’s is invited to come and help the PCC shape the future.
It would be helpful to know numbers so feel free to register an interest by contacting the churchwarden: John Hooper at [email protected] or call:
