Sung Compline

Just a reminder that we will be gathering for our monthly Sung Compline this evening at 9:00 pm at St George Tombland Church. A beautiful church. Sublime chant. Scriptural poignancy. Wonderful people. Prosecco and nibbles. I, personally, cannot think of a better way to spend a Friday evening! Hope to see you there!

Please note that this will be the only service offered in our three churches this day.

3:30 pm Archbishop Matthew Parker Preachment Evening Prayer with preacher The Revd Malcolm Brown, former Director for Faith and Public Life for the Archbishops’ Council and an adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury, at the Church of St Clements, Fye Bridge.

This weekend also marks the end of Christian Aid week. Christian Aid is a charity that the churches have supported over a number of years and if you would like to make a donation, Christian Aid envelopes are available at both St George, Tombland and St Giles-on-the-Hill.

This Sunday, 10th May, the Sixth Sunday of Easter and Rogation Sunday, we will be celebrating the following services:

9:30 am Sung Eucharist at St George Colegate
10:30 am Sung Eucharist at St Giles-on-the-Hill
11:00 am Sung Eucharist at St George Tombland

There are also several opportunities for musical appreciation this weekend.

Tonight, Saturday 9th May, there is St Giles’ annual Wisteria Concert featuring the Cantilena Choir. Doors open at 7:00 pm and the concert begins at 7:30 pm.

Tomorrow, Sunday 10th May at 4:00 pm, UEA Baroque Ensemble are at St George Tombland.

Booking is not required for either concert and there is no charge, but in both cases there will be a retiring collection in aid of church funds.
