WJKK WJKF πŸͺ― Today marks 105 years since First World War, and 78 years since the Second World War. It is important to remember those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms and rights today. Sikhs played major role in both World Wars, majority of whom were volunteers serving and fighting for the British Empire. Sikhi teaching us that it is our duty and great honour to face and fight against oppression wherever it exists. Lest We Forget

It was an honour to be invited to Surlingham Primary School in Norwich to give a talk to the year 5 students about sikhi!
With a relatively low level of Sikhs in this area, the students have never had any exposure to Sikhi except from what they have learnt in the curriculum, they were so excited to learn and had so many questions!
They specifically were curious about the formation of the Khalsa and hearing the stories about how far Sikhs go to defend not only their own religion but others too.

We had amazing feedback from both the teachers and the students and hope to continue the seva in the future πŸ™
