Have you always wanted to use your transferable leadership skills in a role where what you do can truly make a difference every day?

We currently have four Site Manager vacancies available across Westerleigh Group.

Leading one of our sites is about much more than day-to-day management. You’ll lead and develop a close-knit team, take ownership of your site’s operations and performance, build strong relationships with families and Funeral Directors, and help shape a place that plays an important role within its local community.

No two days are the same, and there’s plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity to the role, from developing the site and its grounds to creating opportunities for the local community to come together.

You may not have considered a career in our industry before, but if you’re an experienced leader looking for a role with purpose, responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Find out more about our current vacancies and apply via our careers website by searching for 'site manager' in the keyword search bar: https://ow.ly/V2jm50ZJj8e

This Sunday 30 August, is National Grief Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness of grief and encourage more open conversations about loss and bereavement.

Grief is different for everyone. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and no set amount of time that it should take. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone is there to listen can make a real difference.

National Grief Awareness Day is a reminder to be kind, patient and understanding towards those who may be grieving – including those whose loss may have happened many months or even years ago.

It can also be an opportunity to remember those we have lost and to talk about the memories that keep them close to us.

This Sunday, why not take a moment to check in with someone who may be grieving, or simply take some time to remember someone special. 💙

Our recent research explores people’s experiences and preferences around funerals, including the importance of personalisation and meaningful ways to say goodbye. Read the full research here: https://ow.ly/kotZ50ZG6k3

This Sunday, 30 August, is National Grief Awareness Day, an opportunity to recognise the many different ways people experience and navigate grief, and to encourage more open conversations about loss.

At Westerleigh Group, we know that every person’s experience of grief is different. There is no single way to grieve, and no set timeline for how long it should take.

Earlier this month, we shared new research exploring people’s experiences and preferences around funerals. The findings highlight just how important meaningful, personal funerals can be in helping families come together, say goodbye and begin to navigate life after loss.

As a group, we are committed to supporting families not only at the time of a funeral, but by helping to create spaces where conversations around death, loss and remembrance feel a little easier.

A fantastic achievement for The Vale Crematorium at Evesham🎉

We’re delighted to share that The Vale Crematorium at Evesham has been shortlisted as a finalist for Crematorium of the Year at the prestigious Good Funeral Awards.

The awards, run by the Association of Green Funeral Directors, recognise excellence, dedication and innovation across the funeral sector.

Being named a finalist is a wonderful recognition of the care, professionalism and commitment shown by the whole team at The Vale, who work tirelessly to support families and provide exceptional service when it matters most.

The winner will be announced at the Good Funeral Awards in Berkshire this October. 🤞

Work is continuing to move forward at both our new crematorium developments in Cramlington and Vale of York.

At Great North Crematorium & Memorial Gardens, the chapel roof is now fully boarded and ready for membranes, while work continues on the gable end. Electrical works are progressing inside the chapel, alongside window installation and further works to the cremator room, where ceiling boarding is nearing completion.

At Vale of York Crematorium & Memorial Gardens, block paving and external works are progressing, while first-fix electrical and mechanical works continue internally. The cremator room is also taking shape, with high-level painting complete and ceiling boarding underway.

It’s great to see both projects continuing to progress, with each development moving closer to completion. We look forward to sharing further updates as work continues.

We're proud that our support extends beyond the services we provide to families every day.

Through our corporate charity partnerships, we're helping organisations make a real difference to people, communities and the environment.

Our latest Charity Impact Report's from Winston's Wish - giving hope to grieving children, Child Bereavement UK, Cruse Bereavement Support and World Land Trust showcases just some of what these partnerships have achieved over the past year, from supporting more than 250,000 bereaved adults, children and young people, to enabling free bereavement support for families across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and funding the protection of 1,354.5 acres of vital wildlife habitat.

We're incredibly grateful for the life-changing work they do and are honoured to support their missions.

Take a look through the report below to see the difference these partnerships are making.
