In Northwich, it has been the Pina Colada Festival
The magical Toppers of Northwich have yarn bombed the town with the most amazing pineapples. The creativity is astounding. Pineapples are not mentioned in the Bible having their origins in South America, many fruits are mentioned just not pineapples. Seeing the main knitted pineapples has brought such joy.

Join us tomorrow at St Mary's for 10.30 Parish Communion. This is a joint service with St Mark's.

Last Sunday at St Mark's we celebrated Lammas where we offered bread and wheat to God from the early Harvest. Offering a loaf is appropriate in Antrobus as the new shop and cafe have opened, "the Antrobus Loaf" open from 9 until 12.15 everyday offering supplies, drinks and yummy cakes etc . It is utterly incredible and run by volunteers. Head over, it's just behind the village hall, accessible and dog friendly.

This Sunday we have services of Holy Communion at St Mary's at 8am and 10.30am

At St Mark's there is a service of Holy Communion at 10.30

We have Church Teas from 2.00 until 4.30 where there will be the usual drinks and cakes but with fizz. We are always looking for reasons to celebrate. Sue and Geoff celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary on Saturday, Geoff is now 7 years post diagnosis and Christina has been Type 1 for 15 years so do join them to celebrate.

Antrobus Chapel are continuing to celebrate their 90th with a Heritage Meditation Walk starting at 2pm from the chapel schoolroom, 3pm in Chapel, then Nook Farm, the old Chapel site, into chapel yard and back into chapel. Please contact Ann Bolshaw for more details

Today we remember the Transfiguration of Jesus. Have a read of Matthew 17 1-8. Jesus goes with Peter, James and John to the top of a mountain. Jesus' face shines and his clothes become as white and light. He speaks with Moses and Elijah
then the voice of God speaks, this is my Son, my beloved, listen to Him
Peter suggests building three shelters for Jesus, Moses and Elijah because he loves it at the top of the mountain but instead Jesus and the 3 disciples come down from the mountain.
It's not about the buildings, it's about going out onto the world to spread the love of God.

join us this evening in the Lady Chapel at 7.00 for Celtic Evening Prayer

We had a fabulous day yesterday.
We celebrated Lammas in the morning as Anne and Margaret brought up a sheaf of corn and a loaf of bread representing the farmers and community and we gave thanks to God for all his goodness with the first fruits of the harvest.

This Sunday, we are having our 2nd “Walk with a purpose” Last month we walked from St Mary’s GB to St Helen’s Wilton. This month we are setting off from St Mary’s at 1.30 to walk to Comberbach Chapel. If people do not want to walk but would like the opportunity of visiting chapel, please meet us there for drinks and cake at 2.45. It is about a 2 miles walk there and there is the opportunity to return to St Mary’s by another route afterwards

Why walk with a purpose? People can choose the purpose, getting fitter, enjoying the countryside, seeing a building you may never have visited, chatting with people, the choice is yours.
