Founded in 1974 by a group of young christians, the Greenbelt festival, held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, has evolved into an inclusive event for people of all faiths. It features live Christian music, poetry, performing arts, faith discussions and family workshops. It’s described as “ artistry meets activism, the secular meets the spiritual, politics meets positivity.
From its early beginning in 1974 with 2000 attendees, it now numbers 10000-12000 coming together.to discuss, pray, praise and worship.
Here is a Northampton Corps family enjoying their time.there this year

A life well lived……Dolly Parton has been laid to rest in Nashville. If we all lived as she did in her Christian belief, what a lovely world we would have.

The Salvation Army has mobilised its International Emergency Services and local territories to provide critical, lifesaving relief following the devastating flash floods in Nepal and Pakistan. Working directly with national disaster management authorities, they are focusing on the immediate needs such as food security, emergency shelter, clean water and sanitation. The Salvation Army has coordinated a logistics network to bring in 1000s of high quality tents and tarpaulins and local communities are actively working to set up these on safe ground.
Pray for all those affected by this disaster and for those working to bring some relief in this difficult situation 🙏
