ποΈ SUNDAY MESSAGE RECAP | Power to Witness
Preached by Seun Adewuyi | May 31, 2026
This Sunday we were reminded of a powerful truth: you cannot effectively witness without the power of the Holy Spirit.
Drawing from Acts 1:4β8, Seun showed us that even Jesus' own disciples β who walked with him, ate with him, and watched him perform miracles β were told to WAIT. Not to go out and preach. Not to organise. But to WAIT and receive power.
And when that power came at Pentecost? A fearful, denying Peter became BOLD. He stood up before thousands and preached with such conviction that 3,000 people gave their lives to Christ in a single day.
Key takeaways from the message:
β
A witness simply tells what they've seen and experienced. You don't need a dramatic testimony β just share what Jesus has done in YOUR life.
β
The Holy Spirit will guide your conversations. You don't have to force it. He gives utterance β the right word, at the right moment, to the right person.
β
Sometimes we sow seed. Sometimes we harvest. Don't be discouraged if no one responds immediately β your words are never wasted.
β
Demonstrating God's power draws people. Prayer, acts of kindness, and miraculous signs are all forms of witnessing.
β
Don't let fear or persecution silence you. Paul preached from prison. Stephen's death led to Saul's conversion. God uses every moment.
Practical ways to witness this week:
β’ Pray for an opportunity at work or school
β’ Attend our monthly Saturday evangelism outreach
β’ Pray for the team even if you can't come out
β’ Support organisations like Bible Society or Compassion International
