And the next phase begins, the Fly-tower scaffolding has gone up. Church is going to look a bit strange for a couple of months 🤔.

We thank everyone that has helped contribute to the project and we can’t wait for the finished product!

All our services will run as normal using our new summer service plan for the next month!

As England kicks off their World Cup campaign, charities are warning of a serious rise in domestic abuse linked to big football matches, with reports increasing by up to 38% when England lose and 26% when they win.

Women’s Aid’s “The Other Kick Off” campaign highlights around 11.37pm on match nights as a time many women and children dread, when abusive partners may return home after the game, drinking and travel. Football does not cause abuse, but heightened emotions and alcohol can make existing abuse more frequent or severe.

As a church, we are called to break the silence, condemn domestic abuse, and make it safe for victims to speak out and seek support.

If you are worried about someone, look out for sudden changes in behaviour in friends or neighbours and be ready to listen, believe, and help them find specialist support which may require phoning the emergency services.

Dear Lord,

We lift up to You all families and homes during the World Cup.

We pray against the shadow of domestic violence that rises in the heat of competition, alcohol, and stress.

Comfort those whose homes are filled with fear instead of joy.

And give them the courage to seek help in the knowledge that they are not alone.

Amen.

Update on the new roof

This top part is called a fly tower it’s where the old theatre screens would get pulled up into and the what we thought we could just repair needs totally replacing.

We thank God and the church for everything that has been provided already! And we continue to lay it at our father’s feet.

Please continue to pray for not only our building but builders and workers alike!
