St. Peter's Church, North Tawton

St. Peter's Church, North Tawton We are a lively Bible-teaching Anglican church in the small market town of North Tawton, in the heart of beautiful rural West Devon.

We believe that God has brought us together as his family to delight in God our Father; displaying the glory of Jesus. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds, young and old, whether you are used to going to church or not. We seek to be a community of Christians serving each other and the needs of the town. We meet every Sunday at 11am for worship, Bible-teaching, prayer and communion (twice

a month). There is always provision for children during our services. Sunday Club meets every week during term times and we have a monthly Family Service (all-age). During the week we have HOME GROUPS that meet in members' houses, a toddler group on a Thursday morning and a regular monthly prayer meeting with the other churches in the town - the North Tawton Prayer Meeting. We also have a coffee morning every other Tuesday from 10.30am - 12.30pm, which is free and open to anyone who would like to come and meet others and do fun activities.

Good afternoon everyone.

Work is starting this week in St Peter's Church and we are really excited to get this project underway. It is likely to take a minimum of 6 months, but will be well worth it, leaving us with three usable spaces at the back or church for all our weekly activities, a brand new kitchen and toilets, as well as creating fit for purpose disabled access which will also be used for weddings and funerals.

Due to healthy and safety, the church is closed to the public during this time and we kindly ask that however tempting it is to just pop your head in the door, please resist!

I will be posting update photos on this page over the coming weeks and months.

All that said, we are still running pretty much all our weekly groups, using the Community Centre and Town Hall, with church services being held in the Primary School. Please see below for more details.

Coming up this week is our annual Christmas Eve Nativity at 4pm in and around St Peter's Church. We will start outside the church and make our way in part way through. Wrap up warm!

Any children who want to take part, please arrive 20 minutes before we start to get dressed up. The play, as always, is narrated, with each group being directed by one of out team - so no lines to learn and very little to remember!
