St Peter's Church, Balkwell A welcoming, charming and authentic Geordie Church. And behind a slightly forbidding exterior is a beautiful, light and much-loved church. At present St.

Built in 1937, with a Parish Hall attached (built slightly earlier in 1930), this expansive church has a separate Lady Chapel where everyone can have a quiet and private time for prayer. Very much alive, growing and thriving, St Peter’s Church still use their original organ, a small Harrison and Harrison every Sunday morning during worship. Peter's Church is open during Morning and Evening Prayer

and on Sunday for our Eucharist. You are more than welcome to come whatever your denomination. Baptisms & Weddings can be booked by arrangement. Our church hall is used for all sorts of activities & events, such as Sassy Fitness, Children’s Hot Chocolate Group, Activities/ Outreach & Carpet Bowls. Our Church Hall also available to rent, for party bookings and other occasions. For further information about activities and bookings please check our notice board for updates.

Please note: on Sunday 31st May, St Peter’s service of Holy Communion will begin at 10am. This service will be Revd Helens last service with us before moving with her family to be Vicar of the United Benefice of Bedlington, Cambois and Sleekburn. The service will be followed by a buffet lunch in the church hall. All are welcome to join us.

Super noodles are ready in just 3 or 4 minutes and can also be cooked in a microwave, making them a great addition to emergency food parcels when food and fuel insecurity go hand in hand.

We're pretty low, so if you're able to donate via one of our supermarket bins that would be much appreciated!

You can find our collection bins throughout North Tyneside in Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury's, Co-op, One Stop and Spar as well as various community hubs.

After four fantastic years in the Benefice of Balkwell and Percy Main, it was announced on Sunday that Revd Helen will be licensed as Vicar of the United Benefice of Bedlington, Cambois and Sleekburn on Wednesday 8th July.

Please pray for the parishes of Balkwell and Percy Main as we get ready to say goodbye and for the parishes of Bedlington, Cambois and Sleekburn as they prepare for a new chapter together.

We will miss Revd Helen, she has contributed so much to St John’s, Percy Main & St Peter’s Balkwell & the wider community.
