Services:

Choral Evensong 6:30pm every Sunday St Margaret's church, was built in 1896. The church has been a Grade II listed building since 2001, giving the building a protected status by English Heritage. The church is just one of eight Grade II listed buildings in the parish, many of which date back to the 18th century. The church was designed by A

H Hoole of London, and paid for by Mrs Georgina Longueville-Jones, of whom there is a marble bust in the vestry.

The Easter Vigil and lighting of the New Fire. From Darkness to Light. Celebrated at North Elmsall 2026.
You might have noticed that when you come to church, there is a rather large, beautifully decorated candle, It is lit all through the period of Easter and at baptisms and funerals. This candle (new each year) is lit from the New Fire at The Easter Vigil. This candle is ‘The Light of Christ’-Jesus’ triumph over Death and Evil. The flame is then used to light the candles presented to candidates at Baptism, who will ‘shine as a light in the world.’

Mass begins at 10:30am at St Mary’s South Elmsall and 9:00am at St Margaret’s North Elmsall.
