ASH WEDNESDAY: Mass and distribution of ashes will take place at 9:00am at Our Lady Star of the Sea, and at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Waves.

Ash Wednesday is this week and marks the beginning of Lent. The ashes on our forehead symbolise our mortality and need for repentance. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence.

▪ Ash Wednesday Masses at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral, Edinburgh: 8:00am; 10:00am; 12:45pm; 6:00pm (Polish); 7:30pm.

Archbishop Cushley will celebrate the 10:00am Mass (for schools, but all welcome) and will lead an Ash Wednesday service for MSPs and staff at the Scottish Parliament.
