On Saturday afternoon 19 of our Junior Section Boys attended the Belfast Battalion Fun Day at Ganaway.

After a picnic, the boys took part in a wide range of indoor & outdoor activities during an action-packed day.

The boys got an opportunity to do caving, zipline, climbing wall, field sports, nightline inflatables, on the beach, tug o war plus lots of others!

This brings our Juniors Summer Programme to a conclusion and is the end of a fantastic year for our boys! 💙💙

Some of our Company Section lads had a great night at Game Locker on Wednesday night. We try to offer a varied programme for our all our boys but this was a special token of thanks for them who represented us so well at the annual Belfast Boys' Brigade Church Service a few weeks ago!

Tonight at Junior Section, we welcomed 28 of our 3rd Year Anchor Boys and 5 new Bring-a-Friend boys.

The boys joined our current 1st Year boys and we had great fun at a Games Night. This was a mixture of indoor and outdoor sports which finished with our ageless favourite - Tug 'O' War.

This was a great opportunity for us all to get to know each other and we look forward to seeing the boys again in September!

Yes, that time again! Happy 4th Newtownabbey Day!!

Our Juniors finished their regular Summer Programme on Monday with a fantastic night Forest Fitness Ni in Carrick.

We had 43 boys attending - the highest number of any single event during our Summer Programme!

The boys got to do Axe-Throwing and Laser-Tag at this brilliant facility on the Top Road.

The boys all had a great time and the weather was brilliant too!

It is with sadness I have to report the passing of Mrs Iris Jamieson, wife of our past captain Mr Bertie Jamieson. Mrs Jamieson attended many BB camps, often held the line when necessary and organised the obligatory post display ‘bun worries’ that we used to have.
She had a great sense of humour, could hold her own with the best and had a kind heart with the boys always coming first.
One of my favourite memories of Mrs Jamieson was when , in the days of the church flower show when there were baking competitions and cake sales, she was asked to bake sponges and enter them for judging. They weren’t long back from BB camp and rather than start from scratch, Mrs J lifted a left over box of camp sponge mix, added water, put the mix in tins and baked as required. The resulting sponges were perfect and won first prize! She laughed and laughed.
We extend the thoughts and prayers of the 4th Newtownabbey BB family to Mr Jamieson and the entire family circle at this difficult time.

🏸UK National Badminton Final🏸

Our last final of the year took place just outside Edinburgh this weekend as we represented BBNI along with our friends (best of enemies) 1st Granshaw. After regional preliminary matches and a regional final we end the year 5th in the UK which is an unbelievable achievement for easily the youngest team we have ever brought to a National Badminton Final! Andrew, Caleb, Jacob and MJ gave it as much as they possibly could and battled for every point. We simply couldn’t have asked for more from them!

The busy weekend for our Junior Section continued on Saturday afternoon when we represented our Belfast Boys' Brigade Battalion with a full squad of 7 boys at the The Northern Ireland Boys' Brigade - BBNI 5-a-Side Finals at Meadowbank Arena.

We progressed through the Group stages winning 4 matches with 1 drawn, scoring 15 goals and only conceding 1 goal.

In the Semi-Final we played 1st Maghera winning 1-0.

In a very competitive Final, we played 1st Dungiven and it was goalless after full-tiem and extra-time. Unfortunately we lost 5-6 in sudden death penalties.

Afterwards we went to McDonalds to celebrate a fantastic season!

Well done boys!
