On this sad day we as a nation mourn the passing of our precious monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

The majority of us have only ever known the crown and throne to belong this phenomenal woman, so it is reasonable to say that the days ahead will be somewhat strange for the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

Nevertheless we are so thankful to God for her and her devotion and dedication to serving our nation with humble grace and dignity; the likes of which we will never see again.

She will forever be a wonderful example of servant-hearted leadership, just like her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This evening, our thoughts and prayers are with the King and the Royal family for the days, weeks and months ahead.

We ask that God would draw close to them bringing them strength, comfort and healing in their time of grief and mourning.

Indeed we pray this for us all.

God Save the King.

Day 24: Jesus is Coming Again!

“Surely I am coming soon.” - Revelation 22 v 20

The penultimate verse of scripture has Jesus reiterating this truth to us. It is essentially the last thing he leaves us with in the book, so it is important.

He wants us all to know he is coming again to fully establish his rule and reign. We do not know when exactly that will be, but because he said it we can be assured of it.

This means we must have an urgency about us all.

Non-Christian, are you ready for his return? Are you his? Is he your Lord and Saviour? He wants to be, but the decision lies with you.

Christian are you diligently about the work he has called you to? Work he has prepared in advance for you to accomplish.

The clock is ticking. Let's not waste another moment.

Let this Christmas mark a change in your heart and life to live for Jesus with all you are.

Because Jesus is Coming Again!

As always, if you are free and able each Sunday at 11.00am we want to invite you to join us as we worship and celebrate Jesus.

Day 23: Jesus is King.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this." - Isaiah 9 v 6 - 7

Don't really need to say much more than this.

Jesus is King.

Day 22: Jesus is Holy.

"We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin." - Hebrews 4 v 15

Jesus, while fully God, was also fully human and he was tempted in every way like we are.

Yet he did not sin. He was holy and pure. He is holy and pure. He lived a perfect life.

And he wants us to live a life like him, pursuing holiness and purity.

And the reality is this: We can live holy today, because Jesus is Holy.

Day 21: Jesus is Worthy

"“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!”" - Revelation 5 v 12

This truth requires us to remember one from December 7th. Jesus is the Lamb of God.

What we see here in Revelation 5 is a glimpse into the glory of Heaven. A moment where Jesus is being worshipped.

When we consider worship is an ancient contraction of "worth-ship" it should not surprise us that this heavenly host, who are fully aware of who Jesus is and what he has accomplished, declare him worthy.

Worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and praise!

He is also worthy of our very hearts and lives. So let's live wholeheartedly for him, because Jesus is Worthy!

As always, if you are free and able each Sunday at 11.00am we want to invite you to join us as we worship and celebrate Jesus.

Day 20: Jesus is the Lion of Judah

"See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed." - Revelation 5 v 5

This truth goes all the way back to a moment in Genesis where Jacob calls his son, Judah, a young lion declaring that the sceptre of leadership would never pass from his family line.

This truth of Jesus also incorporates a prophecy given to David, who was of the tribe of Judah. The prophecy was that David's descendant would rule forever.

Jesus is the fulfilment of that promise and prophecy. He triumphantly rules and reigns forever.

Descendant of David, ever on the throne.

Jesus is the Lion of Judah.

Day 19: Jesus is Alive!

"He is not here, but has risen." - Luke 24 v 6

This is Good News this Christmas! Jesus is alive.

He lived a perfect life. A life that he gave for us. He died on the cross for you and I, in our place so that the wrath of God directed at sinful mankind would be satisfied. His perfect righteousness is now upon those of us who believe in Jesus. We are forgiven and have right standing with God and the amazing thing is, the cross was not the end of Jesus' story.

Three days later he rose from the grave, victorious, not just over sin, but over death as well!

Because of this we can know the fullness of life eternal, forever. That life starts now, because Jesus is Alive!

Day 18: Jesus is our Salvation.

"Mary will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” - Matthew 1 v 21

There it is! The promise of Jesus and what his presence means for us.

Right there in the first chapter of the New Testament we see Jesus' purpose, as the angel instructs Joseph what to call him.

Jesus is the Greek version of his name. The Hebrew version is Yeshua or Joshua.

It means YHWH (or Jehovah or God) Saves. What a name! What a truth!

And even more amazing, every time someone called out Jesus' name they were declaring this truth to the very one who would accomplish it!

Mind officially blown!

Because Jesus saves!
Because Jesus is our Salvation.

Remember, if you are free and able each Sunday at 11.00am we want to invite you to join us as we worship and celebrate Jesus.
