We are opening our space on Fridays in December and January from 10am to 3pm. We are hoping it will create a space to get to know each other better and that it will save us having to put the heating on for quite so many hours of the day. The kettle will be on, there'll be some sharing of crafts and a simple lunch. Please do drop in and say hello.

We've been very quiet on facebook for four years. But here we are again and determined to do better!

We are all so grateful to Ruth (in the blue padded jacket) and many like her who were prepared to travel to London and be arrested as part of the Extinction Rebellion protests in London this week.

Very moving witness at Princetown on Saturday 4th to remember the Conscientious Objectors held on Dartmoor in WW1. Many Friends from different meetings across Devon, and from Cornwall too. We walked out to the Conchie Road afterwards. Next year we could think about some events around International CO Day in May?

**Free course**

Join us on Tuesday for the free online course 'Speaking Out About Peace'.

Every generation faces new challenges but the consistency of our concern remains. How do we share this concern with others? How do we speak out for Peace to those who agree with us and to those who are challenged by our position?

You can self-enrol on this course by clicking the following link: http://moodle.woodbrooke.org.uk/enrol/index.php?id=260

Please share with others who may be interested.

Quakers will be holding a short vigil to remember Conscientious Objectors held at “Princetown Work Centre” during the First World War (1917 to 1919)

Gather at 10:45 for 11 am, 4th November 2017.
outside the Moorland Visitor Centre, centre of Princetown.
We intend to hold a Meeting for Remembrance, to include a period of silence and sharing of short readings. We expect this to last for around 20 minutes. We anticipate that we will stand in a circle; Friends are welcome to bring ‘camping chairs’ if standing is difficult.

Afterwards we hope the weather will allow us to walk to the “Conchie Road” (around two miles on uneven track ways) and share more of their story. Please note that this is not an organised walk and people will need to decide for themselves if it is appropriate to join.

Our understanding of God is shaped by personal experience; different people use words that they find helpful and meaningful. On this page a group of seven Quakers share what God means to them.
