EASTER DAWN SERVICE CHANGE OF VENUE
Kilbroney Forest Park will be closed from 1.00pm on Saturday through to Sunday afternoon. This means Presbytery will be unable to hold the Dawn Service at the Cloughmore Stone on Easter Sunday morning. We will now meet at the shore opposite Victoria Square in Rostrevor, just a few hundred yards away from the entrance to Kilbroney Forest Park, at 6.30am and breakfast will be served in Rostrevor Presbyterian Church Hall afterwards.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Ida Margaret Cartmill.

CARTMILL 30th November 2025 peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital.

Ida Margaret beloved wife of the late Billy, 4 Elmwood Park, Newry. Much loved mother of Beryl and Kim. Mother-In-Law of George and Colin. Grandmother of Wayne, Jill, Nathan, Ryan and Alistair. Remembered by her great-grand children, their partners and sister Gladys.

Funeral service in Dowshire Road Presbyterian Church on Wednesday 3rd December at 1:30pm followed by private interment in Presbyterian Cementry Armagh Road, Newry. Family Flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired, in memory of Ida, can be made payable to Brain Injury Foundation. C/o J M Murdoch Funeral Director Brookside 125 Armagh Road Newry BT35 6PU.

Lawnfield House in Newcastle is a residential care home for those with a physical disability/mild learning disability, sensory impairment or older people. Pray for staff and service users in the home, that they will know God’s presence in their daily routines.

Give thanks for NESSL’s 62nd General Assembly that took place in early September with a focus on renewal and hope. Pray that the church in Syria and Lebanon would remain steadfast in witness in the face of many challenges, embodying Christ’s love, upholding human dignity, and discerning of what God is doing in the Middle East and beyond.
🇲🇼 Volker & Jinhyeog Glissmann, global mission workers, Malawi
Give thanks that the Glissmann family were able to come together recently in the UK to celebrate Lina and Josh’s marriage. Give thanks also for the publication of the book “Theological Education by Extension: Accounts from the 20th Century” that is now available globally as a free e-book. Pray for global TEE practitioners as they serve God in sometimes challenging circumstances.

Pray for lunchtime staff prayer meetings taking place weekly in the hospitals (Antrim Area on a Wednesday and Craigavon Area on a Thursday) – for an awareness of his unifying presence and purpose amongst us.

Pray for Henry Coulter in his ongoing work with the International Meeting Point. Give thanks for the partnership with South Kirk Presbyterian Church in running a bi-lingual Alpha Course, with 40 people attending weekly. Pray that many will not just hear God’s Word but will make the decision to follow him.

Pray for the nation of Jamaica, especially those who are grieving, traumatized and enduring great loss, as a result of the destruction and flooding caused by Hurricane Melissa which made landfall on 28 October. Pray for all engaged in providing relief, especially the UCJCI’s Hurricane Response Team.
🇮🇩 The Evangelical Christian Church of Timor (GMIT)
Give thanks for the Moderator, Rev Samuel Pandie and Secretary, Rev Lay Wenyi. Pray for them in their key leadership roles and remember also the Synod Board, as they take forward GMIT’s ministry and mission during their period in office up to 2027.
