Prayer for 2026
God of new beginnings,
as we step into this year,
steady our feet and soften our hearts.
Where the path ahead feels bright, help us walk with gratitude.
Where it feels uncertain, walk closely beside us.
Bless the plans we make,
the people we will meet,
the work we will offer,
and the rest we will need.
Teach us to notice the small mercies,
to celebrate the quiet victories,
and to hold one another with kindness.
When the world feels heavy,
give us courage that is gentle and hope that is stubborn.
When joy arrives,
let it take root and grow.
May this year be shaped by compassion,
coloured with peace,
and threaded through with Your love —
for us, for our communities,
and for all who long for comfort and belonging.
