The annual fundraising event for Suffolk Historic Churches Trust takes place on Saturday 12th September. We always take part to support other churches, but also we recognise the major grants that we have had from the Trust to help with current repairs to the Church.
Although the event has traditionally relied on a model of individual sponsorship for the number of churches visited, we appreciate that people nowadays do not necessarily have the time to arrange sponsorship and it may not be easy.
However we are still keen to encourage as many people to participate as possible, and we will raise some funds by donations for refreshments that we will provide during the day.
We shall be there from 9am onward until late afternoon. Walkers and runners from other churches will be popping in during the day but we would really welcome anyone from the Village who is a walker, runner or biker to start at the Church and just visit as many churches as practicable in whatever time you choose. Many of the village churches are in particularly lovely settings. And when you return there will be a welcome rest and refreshment. .
For the cyclists who may be visiting a number of churches there is a list of local churches with postcodes. There is even a Suffolk wide list which I can email to you.
But however limited your walk or bike ride we shall be pleased to see you on the 12th and enjoy some refreshment at St Peters. If you come in the morning or at lunchtime you can still enjoy the Village Dog show during the afternoon!
