Our Sessions:
We begin with free play with coffee/tea, juice and biscuits and a simple craft activity on an educational theme such as numbers, shapes, colours and farm animals. After a tidy up 15 minutes before the end we have a circle time with a story and a few nursery rhymes which link in with the theme. Our History:
St Mary's Baby & Toddler Group began in 2009 and ran for 10 years before stopping due to the covid lockdown in March 2020. We have lots of experience providing a space for parents and carers to enjoy with their children, and we are excited to resume in 2024. Our Team:
The group was started and is run by Louisa Mason. She is married to the Rector of St Mary's Simon Mason, and has worked with children in the church since they arrived in 2005. Louisa will be joined by a rotating team of helpers who will provide refreshments and crafts. Our Aims:
• Provide Sessions Free
Provide each session and all refreshments free so that anyone can attend regardless of background and circumstances.
• Have Fun
Encourage pre-school children and their parents/carers to play together, and have fun by providing good-quality toys, varied and educational craft activities, stories, songs and refreshments.
• Offer Friendship
Offer friendship to everyone who comes to our group, and create an environment where friendships can be made among our group members.
• Show the Love of Jesus
Enable parents/carers and children to experience the love of Jesus through the friendship of the Team and the hospitality of the Church.
• Provide a Safe and Happy Environment
Ensure that the facilities and toys are secure, safe and hygienic, the team is DBS-checked, and the group is kept up to date over Health and Safety issues.
