Meet Shannon! 🌱

Shannon loves helping to look after the animals, sharing her knowledge and expertise with horses, enjoying a good chat over tea and, of course, having plenty of laughs along the way! 🫏🐴☕😂

But the Ark means so much more to her than that.

As Shannon puts it, “The Ark is my second family.” 💛

We’re so thankful for Shannon, her love for the animals and all the joy she brings to the Ark. 🌿

Another Ark Story 🍃

This time, we’re introducing Rachel, our Volunteer Support Worker. 💛

Having been part of the Ark for five years (she’s lost track of time! 😂), she absolutely loves being here and helping people find their place.

Her role is all about getting to know each person, understanding their interests and needs, and helping them feel comfortable as they settle in. Whether it’s discovering something they enjoy, building confidence or simply feeling part of the team, Rachel wants everyone to flourish at the Ark. 🌱

As she puts it, “I love being part of the Ark family.”

And that sense of belonging is something we want everyone who comes through our doors to experience. 💛

Because everyone deserves to feel welcome, valued and part of something special. 🌿

The heart of the Ark 💛🌿

As we finish this series with Joel, our Site Manager, we’re sharing a little more about the vision behind everything we do.

Our heart is to demonstrate the love of God to our community, following the example of Jesus.

As Joel shares, we want to help people wherever they find themselves in life. Whether that’s through practical support, a listening ear, friendship or prayer, we want people to know they are welcome and that they don’t have to face things alone. 💛

Because the Ark is about more than what we grow, make or do — it’s about people, relationships and showing God’s love in the everyday.

That’s the heart of the Ark. 🌱

Another Ark story 🌱

Meet Tony — one of the wonderful volunteers who looks after the growing team at the Ark.

Since retiring, Tony has become such a valued part of the Ark, helping to look after the seeds and young plants before they head out to the fields, where our vegetables are grown for the café and farm shop. 🌿

And when asked what it’s like?

“It’s a great deal of fun.” 💚

We’re always looking for new volunteers to come and get involved, learn something new and be part of the team.

There’s always something growing at the Ark — and plenty of ways to get involved. 🌱
