At Jesmond Parish Church we have the privilege of welcoming many students each week. If you are new to the city we hope you enjoy your time here. You may be looking for a church where you can come regularly or get involved. Or perhaps you’re not yet decided about Christianity, or have big questions. You may even have ended up here almost by accident! Whatever your situation you are very welcome to

Calling all Freshers 📣

This Sunday is our Freshers Lunch, and we'd love you to come! We'll meet after the morning and head together to a church family home for a delicious meal and chance to hang out with other Freshers. Let us know if you plan to come. See you then!

The Great Staycation is this Saturday!

A whole day together - we're excited to hear God speak to us through his Word and enjoy his goodness to us together.

If you're a fresher, this is a brilliant chance to get to know lots of others. We'd really encourage you to be brave and come along, we're looking forward to welcoming you there.

Join us today! 🤗

We meet together on a Sunday at 10:30am and 6:30pm with our whole church family, to worship God, hear from him in his Word, speak to him in prayer, and encourage each other as we sing and pray and chat. This morning we'll be looking at 1 Corinthians 15, and this evening at the beginning of Mark's gospel - absolute crackers!

After the morning service families from our church will be hosting students for lunch at their homes. And this evening we have one of our two special Student Welcome Services, so that's one not to miss. Straight after the service we'll have our famous Student Supper - two courses for just £3, not one to miss.

Please come join us! If you're new, look out for those wearing a 'Hello Students' t-shirt and say hello 👋 We're looking forward to meeting you!

Hello JPC Students, and happy holidays 🌞

A heads up that our returning students gathering, Advance, is just 3 weeks away. We'd love to have you back in the city for it and get excited together for a new year and for the chance to welcome tons of new freshers to the city. So here's what you need to know...

》Thu 12th Sep is our BBQ at the Macfadyen's house - a chance to hang out and catch up after a long summer away. All food is provided (if you could chip in a couple of quid that would be class), so just rock up at 6.30pm.
》Fri 13th Sep is Advance, a day together to hear God's word to us at the beginning of a new year. With talks, time to pray, picnic, catch ups, and lots of fun. Starting 9.45am, would be great to see you there.
》Sun 15th Sep is our first welcome service for students and the first Student Supper for the year, woo 🥳

So please get your tickets booked and travels planned so that you can make it back for these - they promise to be a really encouraging start to the year!

It's A-Level results day today, meaning thousands of students are opening up results and finding out which Uni they'll be heading to in September. If that's you, know we are praying for you today 🙏

No matter what grade you have on your piece of paper, which Uni that means you will go to, or what change of direction it might come next, be confident that God never changes. His promises cannot fail. You are and will always be loved in Christ, no matter what life holds, because God is faithful.

22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”

(Lamentations 3:22-24)

Summer Focus begins this Tuesday and will be happening each Tuesday at 7pm for the next 5 weeks 📚 🙏

If you're an undergraduate student who's sticking around in Newcastle into the summer, or back in Newcastle for the summer from a different Uni, we'd love you to join us as we study 1 Thessalonians and learn how to live life now with Jesus' return in view.

That's a wrap for Foundations 2024, and what a fab time we had! Can you believe that's the end of the year - it has flown by?! But praise God for a wonderful year with a wonderful bunch of students! 🌞🥳

Haggai 2:4b says, "Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst." A reminder of God's call for us to work hard for his kingdom and glory, because of his very great promises for us, his presence with us, his help and blessing given to us. As his saved and loved children, there is nothing better than to serve him gladly. Praying God would encourage us over this summer to keep putting him first and making him known in whatever we do!
