Church of St John the Baptist, Newcastle Beautiful medieval church in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. The Church is open every day from 8.30am and welcomes visitors from all over the world.

St John’s is a vibrant, friendly church, with a daily Eucharist and a strong choral tradition maintained by its excellent choir. Concerts, recitals and other events add to the cultural repertoire, and the church is set in pleasant and attractive gardens – one of the few green spaces in the city centre – which is enjoyed by the local community and visitors to the city alike. Leaflets are available in English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Swedish and Spanish.

The Great North Run obliges us to close S. John's next Sunday, the 13th.
We'll be open for Mass as usual on the 20th, at 10.30

Please note that at present we are only able to open the church at Mass times - 10.30am on Sundays and 12 noon on Tuesdays.
However, we will try to accommodate anyone who is making a special journey to visit the church. Please contact us in advance if you wish to do so.
