St Mary the Virgin Church At St Mary's Church we try to be a people of prayer, offering welcoming hospitality, and being gener No matter who you are, you are welcome at St Mary's.

St Mary's is situated in the middle of Fawdon, just tucked behind the main road and community centre on Mapledene Road. Our church serves as a community hall and spiritual home for so many different people from different walks of life. We would love to see you at any of our services or activities.

Please join us this evening at 7.00pm, Church of the Ascension for the Lighting of Easter Fire,Vigil and Renewal of Baptismal Vows when we gather around a fire outside a darkened church, from which the Easter (Paschal) candle is lit and brought inside. This depiction of new life and light represents Jesus’s resurrection on the first Easter morning. Parishioners then light their own candles from this main candle to symbolise their own coming into new life as followers of Jesus.
Please join us for fellowship with refreshments after the service.

A big thank you to all who helped with the collection for our Foodbank at St Marys Church in Fawdon for the donation of baby items, milk, nappies and lots more this will come in so handy for all our families !
