Camp is over! 😞😭😭 (This is what our daughter said we should write here).

The camp season finished for us yesterday with packing away the site at Fenham. In reality camp is not over because plans and preparation for next year have started already with tents going off to be fixed, thoughts about staffing next year and much more.

Please continue to pray for all the children and young people who attended these last few weeks. They go back to varying circumstances and to live everyday lives in a challenging world. Pray that they know the presence of Jesus in their lives and in their hearts.

Last year boys camp had some big problems with windy weather causing disruption and damage to the site. Please pray with us that they have a gentler experience this year!

Last year an external activity provider commented on how polite, well-behaved, fun and generally nice the boys were. This has not always been their experience of teenage boys. Please join with us in praying that the Christ-like atmosphere at camp which brings about this kind of witness will continue again this year.

Most of all we pray for the salvation and growth of all the campers.

Junior Camp begins on Saturday! This is a big camp with boys and girls aged 8-12. It's busy, it's loud, it's fun and it's a bit chaotic (but that's just because Commy doesn't always know what he's doing!)

Please pray for the leaders. Looking after these younger children often involves more practical help as well as guiding them spiritually through quiet times and memory verses.

Girls Camp continue to be grateful for your prayers this week too.

Before camp can start on Saturday afternoon the whole site needs to be set up. Tents, marquees, benches, tables, wash 'facilities' and table tennis!

This is not a small task which takes some skill and knowledge - although plenty people who will just do as they are told are also useful!

Please pray for the group of people working on Friday to get the site ready. Pray for health, strength and safety as they work.

(This is a great photo of Neil who was always willing to throw his strength behind camp set up and who's enthusiasm for this kind of hard work is greatly missed.)

25 girls are excitedly awaiting the start of camp on Saturday! Camp can be such a special place, an escape from every day life, a time to just be yourself, an experience filled with fun and friendship and a place where Jesus is at the centre.

Let's not underestimate the privilege and huge responsibility that is held by those women who are taking care of them for the week.

We thank the Lord for each one of them and the hard work and prayer they have put into getting ready for this year's camp.
