A reminder of arrangements for “Songs and Scones” tomorrow. Evensong at 3pm in church, followed by cream teas in Maer Village Hall at 4pm. We are blessed to be joined by “Silk and Sass” who’ll be entertaining us with light jazz and whimsical numbers at the village hall. Hope to see you there!

No service at Maer this week, but do please consider heading to one of our sister churches. There’s a Spring Fair with Plant Sale happening Maer Village Hall on Sunday from 1-4pm, with delicious cakes, cream teas and beverages on offer, alongside craft stalls, bric a brac, books, games and a wonderful array of homemade jams, jellies and marmalades and of course… LOTS OF PLANTS!

What a wonderful occasion the Hatches, Matches and Dispatches through the Centuries was yesterday. We were blessed with some help around the church grounds from Chellaston Academy staff, who set up a water stop for their Duke of Edinburgh walkers, fabulous weather, interesting chats, old acquaintances and new faces all gathered in our beautiful church to bear witness to our records, and the many ocassions marked and celebrated here by our forefathers. And did we mention bunting? Thanks everyone who helped stage the event and all who visited.
