After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and. rolled back the stone and sat on it.

Tree removal at St George’s Church, Wash Common
Recent inspections of the conifer trees on the roadside boundary of St George’s Church, Wash Common have shown that they are in poor condition, with signs of decline and potentially dangerous. The PCC has therefore decided that 2 trees must be felled before the end of February, and with others to follow next winter. It’s always sad to see trees reach the end of their lives and we are very mindful of the current environmental stressors that adversely affect growth conditions and life span of many varieties of tree. Please be assured that new planting of native trees and/or hedging will be a priority as we seek to increase the biodiversity, environmental health, and sustainability of our green spaces. We apologise for any inconvenience caused on the 18th February when the trees are felled.
