Newtown Church Church of St Mary the Virgin & St John the Baptist, Newtown, Newbury

It was with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Tony Webb, a much respected member of Newtown Parish Council from 2014 to 2024, including six years serving as Chair.

Tony cared deeply about Newtown and its residents, dedicating countless hours to parish matters and always striving to make a positive difference within the community. He was especially passionate about planning issues and will be fondly remembered for his determined efforts to ensure that all homes in Newtown were included in Hampshire’s fibre broadband rollout — a project he pursued tirelessly on behalf of residents.

Tony’s commitment, persistence, and sense of community will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him and knowing him.

A service of remembrance will be held at Newtown Church at 2pm on Wednesday 10th June.
