This September, the 24-7 Prayer movement is calling on believers and churches worldwide to take part in a Global Week of Prayer, and there are prayer rooms open right here in Newark at the Buttermarket and St Mary Magdalene, as well as a virtual prayer room you can access any time, from anywhere. Whether you drop in for a quiet moment or sign up for an hour of prayer, everyone is welcome to take part in whatever way suits them best. We Methodists have also been specially invited to steward the Buttermarket prayer room on Thursday 10th September, so if you can help out - particularly between 12 noon and 2pm - please get in touch with Tracey at [email protected] or 07863 352880. #24-7Prayer

We are delighted to welcome Grace Overvoorde, whose mum and grandma are members of our chapel, as she performs a wonderful programme including Poulenc's Piano Concerto, music from The Sound of Music, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and more. The recital begins at 2.30pm, lasts approximately one hour, and is completely free, with tea and cake to follow. Everyone is very welcome - we would love to see you there!

This Saturday and Sunday, 22nd and 23rd August, we are thrilled to welcome Revd Mark Slaney, President of the Methodist Conference, and Caroline Stead, Vice-President, to our District for a wonderful weekend of worship, pilgrimage and fellowship. On Sunday morning, Revd Mark Slaney will be leading the 10:00am service at Southwell Methodist Church, whilst Caroline Stead will be leading a Circuit Service at Nuthall Methodist Church at 10:45am - everyone is warmly invited to attend. We pray it will be a time of real encouragement and blessing for all who take part.

Huge congratulations to Lucy Silver from our congregation, who took a leap of faith last Sunday and completed a sponsored sky dive in aid of the Children's Bereavement Centre, raising an incredible £1,500 so far. Lucy said she felt nervous but trusted her faith that God had her, knowing she was helping so many young people - and what an inspiration she is to us all. The countdown is on ☀️🌜There are just two weeks to go until the near total eclipse brings a moment of awe and wonder, the likes of which we won't experience again until 2090!

Enjoy a relaxed 3.5-mile walk through the beautiful local countryside, followed by the opportunity to stay for lunch or refreshments at Lil' Maggies.

A 3.5 mile walk commencing from Lil' Maggies to North Muskham along the willow walk. Please park in LM's car park and plan to stay for lunch or refreshments.
