Yesterday, we were delighted to formally welcome the Reverend Danny Marshall as the new Rector of The Benefice of Newark on Trent St Mary Magdalene with St Leonard.

Danny is already a much loved member of the community, having served his curacy in the parish.

We are looking forward to seeing all of the work Danny will accomplish in this role.

This Sunday we welcome our wonderful choir back after their summer break. Many thanks to all who have sung as soloists or in small groups over the past few weeks.

The music for the Choral Eucharist on Sunday morning is influenced by plainsong. Andrew Millington's "Missa Alme Pater" includes a thrilling Sanctus and a haunting Agnus Dei; during communion the choir will sing the beautiful "Ubi Caritas" by Duruflรฉ.

Evensong will resume on 13th September. This Sunday at 4.00pm we will be hosting the Licensing of the Revd Danny Marshall as Rector. Music for this service includes the beautiful setting of Psalm 23 (The Lord is my Shepherd) by Schubert, arranged by Stainer.
