So Chapter 2 of Carmel the building started on Friday, when the sale completed. We wait with interest to find oput what is in that Chapter 2!

Meanwhile.... in Chapter 4 of Carmel the people, we had a lovely service led by David Lewis (we always enjoy him improvising on his violin during the hymns) and then enjoyed a lovely post service catch up over tea, coffee and Welsh cakes.

Another fantastic year for our Shoebox appeal. We collected 138 boxes for Samartitan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, including 34 from Libanus Primary School in Blackwood. What an amazing community effort 😍

Thanks to all those who got involved in any way, from picking up shoeboxes, wrapping them, filling them, or supporting the transportation costs.

It was lovely to see so many people at the celebration service too. Rev Andrew Davies reminded us how small actions can have a big impact. Something for our everyday lives as well as for shoeboxes.

The local Samaritan's Puse organiser Cameron was very pleased to receive our boxes - and sends his thanks!

Next Sunday is Shoebox Sunday!

So it's time for the final buying and packing. Rev Andrew Davies will be leading our Shoebox dedication and celebration service at 11:00 in our new home Bethania. How big can we make our Shoebox wall this year???

It was a sad day last Sunday as we held our last Sunday Service in our much-loved building in Duffryn Terrace. We'll still continue to meet every Sunday morning at 11am, but in Bethania in Cwmsyfiog, New Tredegar instead. So there is also something positive to look forward too, as we look to work closely with our friends in Bethania.
Please come and help us mark this transition to a new chapter.
On18th October we'll be holding the final service in Carmel at 3pm and then continue at the Whiterose Resource Centre - no chapel event would be right without tea (and other refreshments)!
We'd love you to come and share your memories, meet friends old and new, learn a bit more about the history and work past, present, and support us as we move into the future.
We'd love to see your photos and memorabilia too. Please bring along copies if you can, or even upload here. Were you married in Carmel? We're hoping to put together a gallery of Carmel weddings through the ages!

We will load up the memorabilia and photos into a digital album afterwards, and will share here.

Quick reminder that Sunday is Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Sunday. If anyone needs empty (wrapped 😁) boxes delivered or full ones picked up then just let me know. Of course we'd love to see you in person on Sunday too 🤗

We enjoyed a lovely service last week with Rev Andrew Davies from Swansea, and a visitor from the Isle of Wight! Andrew's message was a reminder that the apostles were ordinary men but were able to do extraordinary things when they were bold and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Tomorrow we welcome Jacqui Maguire at the usual time of 11am.
