Prayer Time
Keep your roots deep in Jesus.
Colossians ch 2 v 6
ROOTS
Secretly growing
Reaching out
with potential and promise
ROOTS
Making you who you have become,
Affecting your choices,
Directing your decisions,
ROOTS
Searching for water,
Keeping you hydrated,
Sinking deeper as you grow,
ROOTS,
Nurturing succulent fruit,
Constantly working,
Supplying what's needed.
ROOTS
Securing in storms,
Protecting against disease,
Keeping you stable.
ROOTS
The bedrock of your faith
Sinking deep in Jesus,
Essential for producing fruit.
KEEP YOUR ROOTS DEEP IN HIM
Give thanks for the nurturing hand of God in your life, constantly working for your good. Making something beautiful in the garden of your soul. Ask for help and time to take stock, see how much you've grown, test the strength of your roots and the quality of your fruit.
Pray for all in South East Ayrshire Parish Church asking that our roots would dig deep in Jesus making us strong. Ask that our branches would be strong and supportive, caring for and upholding one another practically and very much in prayer. Pray that the fruit of God's Spirit would be so clearly seen in our lives that others may be drawn to finding refuge and security in our branches. Ask God that those who are weak, tired or ill would find refuge, support and much love within the Church family.
Pray for all office bearers in their particular roles. Give thanks for talents and skills intertwining to produce beautiful fruit. Remember our Session Clerk Christine, Fabric convener John , Treasurer Lilly. Give thanks for God's guidance in the production of the Parish Profile. Ask God to go before us all, in all future plans for a nominating committee.
Remember many who have no stability in "roots" that are weak. Pray for many who have put down roots in what seemed to be the security of a career, a relationship, material wealth, power or money. Ask God to be with them when they feel let down, disappointed or broken. Pray for people to find true security, peace and a meaning to life in the Lord Jesus.
Remember children and young people who have no one to nurture them, helping them to develop strong roots. Pray for many in poverty where basic essentials are not present. Ask God to be with families struggling to provide a healthy living environment where children grow and develop through being loved and cherished. Pray for many without much needed emotional support who find social interaction very difficult. Remember teachers, parents, social work staff trying to build bridges and strengthen often very strained relationships.
Pray for Rev Ken, Rev Scott and all who provide support, visit and care for those in need, the bereaved and those who are ill at home and in hospital. Remember Rev Ken conducting communion in Cumnock and Muirkirk this Sunday. Ask for God's Spirit to move among His people as they share in the bread and wine of the Lord's supper. Pray for God to bless Rev Scott as he preaches at Lugar and New Cumnock. Ask that God's word would truly be heard.
Remember the children and young people God has placed in our Church families. Pray for the roots of their young lives to be fully rooted in Jesus. Ask that they would be nurtured and grow up knowing they belong and are cherished within the Church family.
Continue to cry out to God for peace in this torn, troubled, world where conflicts rage and the innocent continually suffer. Pray for Ukraine, Russia, The Middle East and so many more troubled spots. Ask that people in power would use it to make life better for so many who continually suffer. Remember The Red Cross and medical staff working round the clock to try and help only a few of the many many people dealing with injury trauma or loss. Especially remember all affected by the earthquake in the Philippines.
