Prayer Time

When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon he said, " The Lord is with you, mighty warrior."
Judges ch 6 v 12

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Ready to try another treatment for rheumatoid arthritis,
Coping with daily pain and debilitating symptoms ,
Putting your life on hold.

MIGHTY WARRIOR,
Beginning another round of chemo,
Facing horrendous side effects,
Separated from friends and family.

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Daily in the caring role,
Looking after my disabled child,
Present services under threat of being cut.

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Heading to work at the hospital,
No beds or resources for unwell patients,
Feeling overwhelmed!!

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Keeping the vulnerable safe,
Stamping out all that's harmful.
Fighting for justice,

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Doing the right thing,
Being faithful to Jesus,
Often standing alone.

MIGHTY WARRIOR
Dodging the fiery darts,
Outwitting the enemy,
Standing firm in YOU.

MIGHTY WARRIOR
The power of God within you,
So much stronger, so much greater,
Than anything that the enemy can throw at you.

THE LORD IS
WITH YOU MIGHTY WARRIOR!!

Give thanks for the "Mighty Warriors' who throughout your life have sacrificed for you, fought for you and made you the person that you are. Give thanks for the example of those who because of their love for the Lord Jesus and His Church do the right thing, no matter the personal cost and sacrifice. Ask God to be with Rev Ken, Rev Scott, Christine our session Clerk and our Interim moderator Mr Bill Duncan in all their work for the Lord. Pray for the coffee morning this Saturday asking for God's Spirit to move among us as we share fellowship. Remember all coffee morning staff.
Pray that they would be strengthened, encouraged and upheld by God's Holy Spirit. Ask that we would all be so aware of and thankful for Jesus victory over all evil and anything that could ever harm us.
Pray for our police officers aiming to stand up for justice, keep our communities safe and protect the vulnerable. Ask that they would know the strength and guidance of God in situations that are difficult and their personal safety is compromised. Remember our prisons, prison Chaplains and those who minister to prisioners about the truth of the Bible. Ask God to change lives praying that people who are at the end of the road through crime or addiction would find hope in the Lord Jesus. Pray for those in government making important decisions about the future functioning of our prisons. Ask that God's leading and guiding would be in all decisions made.
Remember many in our communities who are seeking and searching for a wholeness, meaning or a satisfaction in their lives. Pray that God's Church in all our communities would be a signpost pointing people to Jesus and the truth and reliability of God's word in the Bible. Ask that people would again hunger and thirst for God's word finding there a place of forgiveness, healing, wholeness and peace. Remember especially our young people making their way in this often very confusing, deceptive world. Ask God to shine His light on their young lives, moulding, shaping , protecting and shielding them through His wonderful love for each of them. Pray for those who are part of our Church families.
Remember Rev Ken, Rev Scott and all who prepare to preach in Jesus name this Sunday. Ask that God's word would be clearly heard and we would be open to His voice speaking to us. Give thanks for the opportunity to meet around the Lord's table as invited guests sharing in the bread and w**e of Communion. At the start of September we pray for "back to Church" month asking God's Spirit to move and prompt hearts that he would bring to Himself. Ask that people would respond to the invitation card going out with our magazine.
Cry out to God for Nepal and the present desperate circumstances. Pray for all who have lost loved ones and those who are still waiting on news. Ask God to strengthen and enable the rescue workers for such a horrific task. Pray for all aid agencies already on site providing medical care and supporting those in desperate need.

Prayer Time

Jesus took up our pain and carried our sorrows.
Isaiah Ch 53 v4

JESUS CARRIES
My cancer diagnosis,
The fear of the first treatment,
Struggles with side effects.

JESUS CARRIES
My child coping bravely with her disability,
Frequent hospital visits,
Feelings of being different when in among her peers.

JESUS CARRIES
My daily pain,
The fatigue as I cope with chronic illness,
Feelings of inadequacy as I give up my job.

JESUS CARRIES
The stresses of the caring role,
Feeling tired with nothing left to give,
As a loved one loses their independence.

JESUS CARRIES
The anxieties of my teenager who self harms,
Finding social interaction so difficult,
Unable to face the classroom.

JESUS CARRIES
My feelings of loss as I face today,
My new normal,
Without my loved one.

JESUS CARRIES
My reality, now living alone,
The sense of grief being overwhelming,
Difficulties stepping over the door.

JESUS CARRIES
My past that's forgiven,
My struggles of today,
My future held firmly in His hands.

JESUS CARRIES
All that could harm me, Already dealt with at Calvary,
A love never ending.

Give thanks for the cross of Jesus and the One who freely gave up His life so that all that could ever harm you, was dealt with.

Give thanks for the victories of forgiveness and healing. Rejoice in the promise of Eternal life which is a sure and certain hope through Jesus sacrifice on the cross.
Give thanks for the joy we experienced on Sunday as we witnessed our dear brothers and sisters being baptised and making a public Profession of their Faith. May we decide to support them and remember them in prayer as they journey with Jesus through an often disturbing and confusing world. Ask God to guide and protect them always. Pray that they would know the support and care of the family of God within His Church. Give thanks for Rev Ken powerfully preaching God's word, encouraging and inspiring us each Sunday. Ask that he, Rev Scott and all ministers of the gospel would be enabled and upheld in all they do for the Lord Jesus. Ask that God's Spirit would very much be moving and working within our communities. Remember those with many questions searching for a meaning and purpose to life. Especially remember our young children and teenagers growing up in a world where there are so many choices and decisions facing them daily. Ask that they would be protected and shielded from all that would harm them, finding truth and direction within the pages of God's word. Pray for many needy and desperate hearts at the end of their tether to be touched and moved for the Lord Jesus.
Give thanks for the valuable witness of the Coffee Bean now started again. Ask that their would be an awareness of God's presence among His family each Thursday. Pray that those who come along would know their value to us and especially to God. Ask God to strengthen and enable the team each week. Give thanks for this outreach praying that the Lord would work within the hearts of all who come along leading them to find faith in Jesus.
Remember Rev Ken, Rev Scott and all who prepare to preach this Sunday in Jesus name. Pray that the message of the cross and the victory won for us by our Lord Jesus, over all that is evil would truly be heard. Remember all aspects of God's work each Sunday including our Church choir and organist Christine, our children and young people and their leaders, our multi media team, tea after Church services, door duty teams and Church flowers going out.
Cry out to God for the people of the Dominican Republic of Congo where the cases of E boli continue to rapidly spread. Remember medical staff trying desperately to contain and treat this deadly virus. Pray for all patients and their families.
Continue to pray for peace in so many troubled spots of our world where conflicts continue to rage and innocent victims go through so much suffering. Ask God to work in the hearts and lives of those who have the power to change the circumstances of so many for good. Pray for Iran, Russia and Ukraine. Remember the work of Christian Aid, Tear Fund,
D. E. C and so many more who try so hard to help.
