Prayer Time

Keep your roots deep in Jesus.
Colossians ch 2 v 6

ROOTS

Secretly growing
Reaching out
with potential and promise

ROOTS
Making you who you have become,
Affecting your choices,
Directing your decisions,

ROOTS
Searching for water,
Keeping you hydrated,
Sinking deeper as you grow,

ROOTS,
Nurturing succulent fruit,
Constantly working,
Supplying what's needed.

ROOTS
Securing in storms,
Protecting against disease,
Keeping you stable.

ROOTS
The bedrock of your faith
Sinking deep in Jesus,
Essential for producing fruit.
KEEP YOUR ROOTS DEEP IN HIM

Give thanks for the nurturing hand of God in your life, constantly working for your good. Making something beautiful in the garden of your soul. Ask for help and time to take stock, see how much you've grown, test the strength of your roots and the quality of your fruit.

Ask God to be with them when they feel let down, disappointed or broken. Pray for people to find true security, peace and a meaning to life in the Lord Jesus.
Remember children and young people who have no one to nurture them, helping them to develop strong roots. Pray for many in poverty where basic essentials are not present. Ask God to be with families struggling to provide a healthy living environment where children grow and develop through being loved and cherished. Pray for God to bless Rev Scott as he preaches at Lugar and New Cumnock. Ask that God's word would truly be heard.
Remember the children and young people God has placed in our Church families. Pray for the roots of their young lives to be fully rooted in Jesus. Ask that they would be nurtured and grow up knowing they belong and are cherished within the Church family.
Continue to cry out to God for peace in this torn, troubled, world where conflicts rage and the innocent continually suffer. Pray for Ukraine, Russia, The Middle East and so many more troubled spots. Ask that people in power would use it to make life better for so many who continually suffer. Remember The Red Cross and medical staff working round the clock to try and help only a few of the many many people dealing with injury trauma or loss. Especially remember all affected by the earthquake in the Philippines.

Prayer Time

Cast all your anxiety on Jesus. For He cares for you.
1 Peter ch 5 v 7

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
That crushing feeling of grief,
Loneliness that seems overwhelming,
Fears for the future that torment .

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
Sitting outside the consultants room,
Fearing the treatment hasn't worked,
Questions washing over you.

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
As the bills pile up,
Just surviving seems impossible,
Many hours on low wages.

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
Concerns for a vulnerable teenager,
Self harming to try and escape,
The horrors of bullying .

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
Hearing the cries of the exploited,
The sidelined or the downtrodden,
Striving to let their voice be heard.

ALL YOUR ANXIETY
Seen, known and understood.
Important and a priority to Him,
Today, fully in His hands.

Prayer Time

On the day of Pentecost Peter STOOD UP with the eleven disciples, raised his voice and addressed the crowd. Acts Ch 2 v 14

PETER STOOD UP
Standing strong,
Standing boldly,
Raising his voice.

PETER STOOD UP
Yes with the same feet,
That had started sinking,
As Peter walked on water,
Terrified of the wind and the waves.

PETER STOOD UP
Yes with the same feet , that had fled the courtyard,
As he wept bitterly,
After denying his Lord.

PETER STOOD UP
Yes with the same feet,
That made footprints in the sand,
As the risen Lord asked him on the beach,
"Peter, do you love me?"

PETER STOOD UP
Fearless, unstoppable
The first day of Pentecost,
Bubbling over,
Full of God's Spirit

PETER STOOD UP
With feet that would soon be chained,
Held in prison stocks,
Because he just couldn't stop talking about Jesus.

Give thanks that with God past mistakes, no matter how desperate can be forgiven. In fact the things that have gone wrong in our lives can be used so much for good and to encourage others who struggle. In Him our worth and what He promises to do within us is immeasurable. Pray for many who find it difficult to believe that God can do so much using them even with their weaknesses.
Ask God to be with those in hospital waiting on a diagnosis, going through tests or treatment. Ask for wisdom for all staff in those cases where knowing how best to help someone is difficult. Remember all who work in health care or social work within out communities daily meeting the needs of those who are ill, vulnerable or underprivileged.
Pray for our coffee bean staff giving thanks for this excellent work within our community. Ask God to enable and strengthen them each Thursday letting them see the fruit of their labours and just how much their efforts are appreciated. Remember those who come every week asking that they may be so very aware of the presence of Jesus among his people that they are attracted to Him too.
