🎬 Film Fun next Tuesday! - Tuesday, 16th June at 7pm.
Don’t miss the screening of ‘Hamnet’ in the John Pearson Hall at St. John's Church.

Reviews are positive, even described as 'one of the films of the year'.

The film is adapted from Maggie O'Farrell's novel, an acclaimed bestseller. And, of course, there is another writer involved: William Shakespeare!

Starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, the theme (whether right or wrong) is that the tragic death of Shakespeare's 11-year-old son – the titular Hamnet – fed into the writing of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. Supposedly, in Elizabethan England, the names Hamnet and Hamlet were interchangeable.

Here are our Sunday Services at our churches for the 7th June:

⛪ 9.30am Parish Communion - Our Communion service with liturgy, hymns and music from the Church of England tradition. St. John’s, New Alresford.

💒 11am St. Mary’s Village Family Praise - An all age service for the whole family.

🧁 4pm Families @ 4pm - St. John’s
1st Sunday of the month. We gather together in St. John’s for fun interactive storytelling, songs, a great craft session and a cuppa. We have babies and toddlers to teens and all in between.

☕ Refreshments are available after/during the following services and groups: Parish Communion, Village Family Praise and Families @ 4pm.

9.30am St. Mary’s, Old Alresford
Holy Communion (Common Worship)

St. Mary’s recently completed a series of extensive building works and now has a lovely kitchenette and a modern new wc.

This service is a great oppportunity to see our wider group of friends in the benefice as well as making new ones.

Day 11 - Pentecost - The Spirit of Power ✨

Today, let us pray that the Holy Spirit would come afresh, filling us with God’s love and drawing our Five closer to Him.

Almighty God,
Your ascended Son has sent us into the world to preach the good news of Your kingdom: inspire us with Your Spirit and fill our hearts with the fire of Your love, that all who hear Your Word may be drawn to You, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

**New impromptu 6pm Pentecost Evening Service added for Sunday, 24th May**

Do join us this Sunday at 6pm in St. John's Church to draw together the 10 days of prayer from Ascension to Pentecost.

There will be some worship time, prayer
and showing of 2 or 3 of the really inspiring videos from this last week.
