Tomorrow is results day for many of our young people, including one of mine! Remember, whatever you get, this is not a measure of your life or what your life will be, it is merely a stopping off point. My exam results were terrible because I hated school! But, some time later I decided to get what I needed for University and ended up with more than enough.

This prayer may help:

Dear God, I did my best, and now I place the results into Your hands. Calm my nervous heart and take away my fear. Give me the peace that comes from You alone. Help me to remember that my value and Your love for me do not change, no matter what the score is. Give me the strength to accept the outcome and trust that You have a good plan for my future. Amen

We had a wonderful Bible study last night as we continued our theme of pilgrimage. We thought about how we journey together as a congregation and with God, especially when things are tough using Psalm 23 as inspiration.

Congregants of the four-legged variety are just as important to us at St Mary’s. We’re so sorry to say that our beloved Delilah passed away today with Barry at her side. She stole our hearts (and a few biscuits) and we won’t forget her.

Did you know that tomorrow is the World Day of Prayer for Older People? I bet you had no idea! We are so often focussed on the young that we forget that our churches are full of amazing older folk; wisdom, experience, a calm reliable presence, skills and expertise which we so often ignore. Well, tomorrow the church remembers Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. Think of the wisdom and knowledge they had to pass down! Come and join us as we celebrate older people, as we ponder our years and as we grow as communities of faith. Join us at 9.45am. P.S. If you're young, you can come too :)
