🥇 **A PROUD MOMENT FOR NELSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION**
We are delighted to announce that our Imam, Imam Afaq Khan, has been awarded Gold Medal recognition through the Roxbourg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship MBA programme in Switzerland.
Roxbourg’s MBA is focused on social entrepreneurship and real-world impact, helping leaders turn ideas and community initiatives into sustainable organisations and models that can create lasting change.
Through the MBA journey, Imam Afaq was supported to take years of community work and develop it into a more structured and ambitious model. This played an important role in the establishment of Nelson Community Foundation and the creation of our five-stage pathway:
SUPPORT → STABILISE → STRENGTHEN → PROSPER → CONTRIBUTE
The pathway is built around a simple but powerful idea:
People need more than temporary relief — they need a clear route forward.
The Gold Medal recognises the development of NCF, the strength of the five-stage pathway model, and the impact already being created across our wider community through hardship support, counselling, employment, enterprise and opportunities for people to contribute back.
This is a major milestone for our Imam, for NCF and for everyone who has helped build the Foundation.
We are incredibly proud of this recognition and grateful to our trustees, staff, volunteers, partners, supporters and wider community who continue to turn this vision into reality.
And we are especially grateful to Roxbourg for helping strengthen the thinking, structure and strategy behind our work.
From an idea to a Foundation.
From relief to a pathway.
From hardship to hope.
And this is only the beginning.
