Align Yourself With His Word.

As we stretch and grow our faith by going deeper into God’s Word, we can look around us and see that this is indeed the only answer. Not looking at what the world declares, rather by delving deeper into the scriptures to help us grow in our present situations.

Look at today, the conflict between the USA/Israel and Iran, the Ukraine/Russia war and many other disturbing happenings here in the UK. All can cause us worry, and if we paid attention to everything we read in the media/social media, if we paid attention to what the news on TV reports, our faith will have been shot to pieces.

Instead, we try to grow our faith, by aligning ourselves with what the Bible teaches.
Alignment with the Word of God, acted on by faith, provides us with stability. When we are pulled in every direction by the world, we need the stability of His Word guiding us back onto the path He has directed us to walk.

Alignment with the Word of God provides us with support as clearly we will only do what Jesus would have done. (John 5 v 9).

Alignment with the Word of God provides us with strength to see us through any given situation, any trial, any storm (Philippians 4 v 13).

Alignment with the Word of God provides us with simplicity. Jesus never used long-winded phrases, He taught in parables, He called us and said “Follow Me”.

We need to align ourselves with the Word of God in every issue of life, relationships, hardships, the larger problems in the world today, etc.

And to align ourselves, we need to have faith.
As scripture tells us in Luke 17 v 5, we also need to cry out to our Lord and say “… increase our faith”.

As our week unfolds, ask yourself, “what would Jesus do?”
He would encourage, He would bless and He would do good.

Let us mirror Him and do the same.

May The Son Shine On You.

Well, here in Wales, miracles DO happen.
It’s a Bank Holiday weekend and the weather forecast is fantastic - the sun is predicted to shine on us all.

As I wrote this yesterday, I heard gardens being prepared, the patio furniture being jet-washed and that smell of BBQ fluid readying the coals.

When the sun shines, all seems to be well with the world (although three days of intense heat and we cry out for rain !!)

The warmth of the sun, the feeling of happiness it gives us (the UV rays trigger the release of serotonin in our brain which boosts and promotes calmness and focus) brings us joy.

If something that simple pleases us, then the blessing in Numbers 6 v 24-26 should make us ecstatic.
The scripture reads, “ The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”

Wow church, God Himself wants to shine His face upon us, that’s you and I, and give us peace.
Far better than just getting a tan.
His love for us will not fade in time, will not wrinkle us - it will give us (His) peace.

Friends, as we bask in the warmth of the sun this weekend, bask more in the love of the Son.
Let Jesus warm you inside and out, as you surrender yourself to Him.

As our week unfolds, spread the warmth by being an encourager, spread the warmth by being a blessing and spread the warmth any doing good whenever you can.
