Well done to Jean Routley, local church organist and longtime friend of church music in the local area. A richly-deserved accolade. Order of the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to church music and to the community in Backwell, North Somerset.

Congratulations to all on but special congratulations to resident Jean Routley for her amazing work in the community for services to Church Music

Jean even taught music specialising in Organ and Piano but even more remarkably she led the North Somerset Choir for over 50 years before handing it over a few years ago.

Truly well deserved 👏

Our community café - The Well - . will be open as usual on Friday, 11:30am - 2:30pm at Southfield Church, serving delicious savouries, cakes, tea and coffee.
Pop in if you're just passing/fancy some company/dropping off donations for the Foodbank/curious to see what the inside of the building looks like - we'd love to meet you.
