The Case of the Missing Doorbell
A Bible‑Inspired Adventure at Motherwell Congregational Church
---
🌅 A Quiet Morning
Early one morning at Motherwell Congregational Church , the caretaker arrived before anyone else.
The Ring doorbell had worked hard all week, so he gently lifted it off the wall and placed it in the office to charge.
He didn’t think much of it — after all, even doorbells need rest.
---
😲 A Big Surprise
When the nursery teachers arrived later, they stopped in their tracks.
“The doorbell is missing!”
“It’s vanished!”
The children gasped.
A mystery had begun.

🕵️♂️ Little Detectives on the Move
The teachers and children decided to become detectives.
They remembered a verse they had learned:
> “Seek and you will find.” — Matthew 7:7
So they grabbed magnifying glasses, notebooks, and set off to search.
They looked under pews.
They checked behind hymn books.
They even peeked inside the biscuit tin (just in case).

🚶♀️ Searching All Over Motherwell
The search grew bigger.
They walked around Motherwell asking everyone:
“Have you seen our doorbell?”
People shook their heads kindly.
No one had seen it.
Still, the children remembered another verse:
> “Do not grow weary in doing good.” — Galatians 6:9
So they kept going, helping one another, sharing clues, and working as a team.

⚡ The Big Discovery
Just when they were about to give up, one of the children wandered into the church office.
“There it is!”
Everyone rushed in — and there sat the doorbell, perfectly safe, happily charging away.
The teachers laughed.
The children cheered.
The mystery was solved.

❤️ What They Learned
The nursery detectives gathered together, smiling.
They learned that:
- Sometimes we worry before we know the whole story.
- Working together makes hard things easier.
- And just like the doorbell, we all need time to rest and recharge.
Most of all, they remembered:
> “The Lord is my helper.” — Hebrews 13:6
Even in little mysteries, God helps us stay calm, kind, and patient.
