Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Starting on 19th January, each of the Morpeth churches will take a turn at hosting a short prayer meeting at 6.00pm in the evening. The first meeting will be on Monday 19th, here at MMC followed by:
Tuesday 20th New Life, Dacre Street
Wednesday 21st St George’s, URC
Thursday 22nd St James’s
Friday 23rd St Robert’s

The week will conclude with a joint service on Sunday 25th January at St George’s, URC starting at 6.30 pm. Everyone is welcome to any or all of these meetings.

In light of recent tensions across parts of the UK, particularly where individuals have been targeted based on their background, the Methodist Church is releasing a new recording of the hymn Let us build a house where love can dwell (StF 409).

As part of this, we’re creating a music video to share online and inspire communities to come together in love and solidarity. We’re inviting churches to take part by filming a short clip of their congregation simply saying: “All are welcome.” These clips will be woven into the final video to reflect the rich diversity and unity of our Church.

If your church can record this phrase in different languages, we’d love to showcase the breadth of voices across our Connexion.

On Tuesday this week, our friends at St Margaret's Chapel, Pegswood enjoyed a lovely visit from the Early Years from Pegswood Primary School. RevAntony N Oakley had a fantastic time! And he hopes the kids did as well.
