At St. John's this morning Rev Vittoria introduced us to chalking the door to bless our houses. You can read about it here. If anyone would like their door chalking let us know and someone will pop around with our chalk.

Prayer: O God of Light, Bless this (our) house and this (our) family. May this be a place of peace and health. May each member of this family cultivate the gifts of graces you have bestowed, dedicating our talents and work for the good of all. Make this house a shelter in the storm and a haven of rest for all in need of your warmth and care. And when we go out from this place, may we never lose sight of that Epiphany star. As we go about our work, our study, our play, keep us in its light and in your love. Amen

Here are the photos of the items made at the felting workshop organised and run by our Androulla Jefferies. In the morning we made a wet felt card, and in the afternoon we all enjoyed stabbing needles to make Christmas baubles. Our thanks goes to Androulla for all the hard work she put into getting everything ready and for the people who attended. Look out for future workshops.

Halloween: Rather than give you sweets and drinks, which are bad for your teeth and don't last long, let us give you something much better; ETERNAL LIFE.

In Romans 10 v 9-10 we read
It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” (The Message Bible)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (NIV bible)
