Community of the Resurrection

Community of the Resurrection WORSHIP IS AT THE HEART OF OUR LIFE - see https://mirfield.org.uk/live-streaming/
for our 5 streamed Worship is like music - you cannot describe it.

In the Community of the Resurrection worship follows a typical monastic round: each day begins with Mattins: the singing of several psalms to the traditional plainchant, followed by a reading, a canticle and prayers. After the short Midday Office we gather round the altar for the Eucharist. Our daily Evensong consists almost entirely of singing, mainly of psalms, and the day ends with the quieter

service of Compline after which we keep complete silence until 9 o’clock the following morning (see the daily timetable). We also aim to pray privately for at least half an hour every day. So if you want to know more about our worship, come and join with us. All our services are open to the public

Join us for a week of study, conversation and exploration.
Our subject areas will be ambitiously wide-ranging – architecture, literature, myth and psychology, fantasy and spirituality, and thin places and black holes. In fact, the universe and everything.

The week will be led by a team of CR brothers: Br Jude Clark, Fr Charlie Annis. Fr John Gribben, Br Michael Maxwell.
While we hope that the week will attract our Companions, and others in the CR family, everyone is warmly welcome.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Family Fun Day in June! It was wonderful to see so many people come together and enjoy the day.

A huge thank you to our Estates Manager, Paul, for organising such a fantastic event, and to all our staff and volunteers whose hard work helped make the day such a success. We're also incredibly grateful to everyone who donated tombola and raffle prizes for our stall.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised £954.40, which we are delighted to donate to the Mirfield District Guides and Brownies, who joined us and helped make the day even more special.
Thank you once again to everyone who supported the event—we're already looking forward to next year's Family Fun Day!

The Community of the Resurrection offers its warmest congratulations to Bishop Toby on his appointment as Bishop of Leeds.

We are deeply grateful to Bishop Tony for his friendship and support over the years, and we assure him of our continued prayers. We also send our very best wishes to him and Henriette as they begin this new chapter.

May God bless them both in the years ahead.

We have a new Bishop! We are delighted that Downing Street has announced this morning that the Rt Rev Dr Toby Howarth has been approved by the King as the nomination to be the second Bishop of Leeds. Bishop Toby has been Area Bishop of Bradford since 2014 and Acting Bishop of Leeds since the retirement of Rt Rev Nick Baines in November last year and we are so pleased that he will be continuing to lead the diocese forwards.
